Be careful with that. If someone’s going trough your truck and you confront them with a gun you’re going to be taking a ride you don’t want to take. Sad, but that’s the way it is. Stay inside and call police or lose the gun and go out to intervene.

Cardboard cutouts of a person with a gun in each window. Recording of loud, angry dogs barking playing through the outdoor speakers. Put my kids out in chairs in front of the house (they would scare anyone away.) Paid the police to drive by the house every 20 minutes or so. Took the tank out of the garage.
Ok, i only put the kids in the yard, not the rest. No real changes since the house is always locked down and the wife and I are very aware of whats going on around us. We don't need to load any additional guns. How many can you shoot at one time anyway?

At every entrance to every field.
People dont respect private property any more. When I rode dirt bikes and atvs we had permission from all the farmers. But we rode the very outside edges and never tore anything up, then we'd haul ass down logging roads. As soon as we were to another field, back to an easy cruise.

Seems to be a decrease in most crime except domestics, which are way up. So now I'm staying strapped in case the Mrs. starts acting up after she gets into the 'shine.
I don't think it's time to rally the neighbors yet beyond checking in a couple times a week.

My update:
I've decided today that enough is enough. I carried my Glock 43 for the first time sense this whole thing started. Going back to pre-COVID carry methods. Small, light and comfortable. The AR is getting unloaded and put back in it's case and locked up. Probably the same for the 870 I've loaded up and set by the bedroom door. I'll keep my Shockwave ready for action in it's undisclosed location, but it's been like that long before this nonsense began. Let's get back to normal. I am "standing down".

Worst. Apocalypse. Ever.
I've been waiting patiently for almost 2 months now, and I STILL haven't seen a zombie. Not for lack of trying, either - I've been scanning the property with thermal and nightvision every couple hours. The only thing I see is bunnies and deer, and occasionally a raccoon or opossum. Very early this morning there was a deer and her 2 tiny fawns laying in my back yard. That's been the extent of the excitement though.

In Rochester a few years ago some teens were breaking into a guy's car. He went to confront. One of the teens rushed at him, teen got shot to death. He was acquitted in a trial. Still, best to not be in a trial if possible.

Actually a couple of weeks ago I put a few things away. The AR got stashed back in the safe, but I always have 2 mags loaded right in there. War belt deactivated for now . . . Heading back to Occupied NY this weekend so a change out in mags for the 19 and the Mini 30 travel rifle. P365 will be locked up too, gonna be wearing the NY permitted 43 again upon arrival . . . Still trying to sell a house up there . . . Uggh

Where it’s going to get really bad and maybe even violent is when and if areas see an uptick and need to shut down again. It will not go over very well. That is when we will see the problems begin. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

When this thing started, I evaluated my plans and identified some holes, which I promptly fixed. I’ve incorporated those fixes in my day-to-day, and I see no need to stand them down. I don’t see anything changing when this is over.
