We care about the 2nd Amendment but I bet more than half of the citizenry doesn't. It's not on their radar and if it is, it's a negative opinion due to all these damned shootings. Yeah I know If more good people concealed carry the death count would be lower but people don't think that deeply about it. They see a mass shooting headline and "GUNS are BAD" gets reinforced their thinking.
I have said it in past posts, the demographics are against us. It appears that nitwit Sinema is going to be the next Arizona senator. WTF. You can't blame it on processes or fraud. It's cause the population in Arizona is of a different ilk than years ago. This will happen in more and more states in years to come and the country will change because its people have changed. Behold New York State and glimpse our nations future.

IDK, I think since Sandy Hook, gun ownership and 2A awareness has gone up. Only the stakes are higher now since the left isn't sugar coating anything anymore.

It will. Between January 1st and 15th someone will introduce 3 different bills, one is going to be a red flag bill, one will be magazine limits, and the last will be an all out AWB.

Here is the difference. One if not all three will get voted on in the first 3-6 months, unlike the things like H.R. 38 which was introduced on the 21st day of the legislative year and sat around for 12 months with nothing happening

The firearm restrictions that are going to get passed right away, are on weapons that the majority of gun owners don't use and the Public "Lemmings " deem not considered hunting implements, IE= 50 Bmg's and Any evil looking Semi auto rifle with a detachable magazine.
Divide and Conquer.
The grandfather clause will be gone too.
Next, "Red Flag " Mental evaluation denials for pistol permit applicants ( Especially looking at Vets since the Philly and Oakdale incidents) and a renewed vigor for confiscation by the NYSP of all firearms from the denied applicants. This is already on the books, just not strictly enforced.
I do think the Gun insurance scam will be tried, but it'll be a slow process only applicable to handgun owners with more than 10 semi auto handguns.

I don't think semi auto pistols will have any more magazine restrictions applied.
I think they'll go for back door manufacturer restrictions, by using the Cali method of making the pistol manufacturers pay lots of money to get their pistols DOJ approved for sale in NY.
The NY DOJ approved pistol roster, with no grandfather clause.
NYS will send notice to all handgun owners that have the handguns that aren't approved by the DOJ to get rid of them before a certain date, or else !
With all handgun licensee's having just updated their info in the database, They know exactly who has those type of handguns.

The future for NY gun owners is looking pretty bleak.
