Was going to say the same thing. No $950 device on a smart phone is going to give xray type results for something at 30 feet.
IMO a capable enough vision system could pick up slight tells as clothing falls differently around an item on somebody's waist, but it wouldn't be able to do what this thing claims in that youtube video, and notice all of it is just cgi; no actual demo of even a prototype.

That video looks and sounds like it was put together by Kickstarter scammers.
Suppose you're in a venue and you're told to leave because "an app" deemed you a threat. That'll cause problems, especially when all of the false positives cause many customers to be ejected.

However, this device doesn't propose to do any kind of thinking. It isn't AI. So, it would be acceptable. Just to be sure, I'll check with my local Ixian delegation.
It uses a smartphone which is an advanced computer. Any kind of microprocessor would be prohibited. Hell, most kinds of electronics would be prohibited.

The idea is to forswear these devices and become your own mentat. That was the whole point of the Butlerian Jihad. I think it's the same as the real world.
