Do you support marijuana legalization?

Just curious where posters here stand on this issue,

I'm voting yes I'm in favor of legalization and no I'm not a pot smoker either so I have no personal interest in this. IMO treat it just the same as alcohol.

Bottom line is it's an herb, not a drug. Drugs are manufactured. Cannabis can be grown and harvested in the garden, without being manufactured.

I vote yes ..... with no trade offs and the corporate gov can keep their greedy paws out of the matter too.

i have no skin in the game. That being said, how is it any different than alcohol? The people I see driving while stoned actually seem to be more in control than those who drive while intoxicated. Yet alcohol is legal.

I think it should be legal. For one, it would cut down on that part of the drug trade if people could grow it for their own consumption. I know people who can't drink without wanting to fight with everyone, but when they smoke a blunt they have no problems with anyone and just have a good time.
I also have a friend who has major issues with his back, already had 10 or so surgeries to fuse vertebra and repair disks. He's always in pain but is also highly allergic to the pain meds. However, pot seems to help and he's able to function more normally.
I haven't partaken in mother's herb since I was 20 and likely wouldn't again. It will be used against gun owners though.

Ever read a "Brave New World". You should check it out. The population in that book, at least the population that was "civilized", all had a time of day that everyone took a drug called Soma that made them "happy" and calm, pretty much a way to control them. I think the governments of the world are looking at pot this way. Just food for thought...

If the biggest lesson you took away from Brave New World was that "Soma" usage is bad then you missed the point of the story I think.

I support a repeal of the federal prohibition. I want to see marijuana and its components studied scientifically for medicinal purposes. Leave it up to the states to decide how to deal with it locally.

I Knew this guy who smoked pot almost his entire life,,,,since he was 15 I think. Now he is got to be around 50. Never got in any fights or had any problems while being high,,,,just happy go lucky when he was high. He drank every now and then too,,,,,,,all the trouble he has ever gotten in his life was from drinking, so he says. He says he has never once gotten into trouble unless alcohol was involved.

He said he smoked it mostly at night so that he could sleep soundly.

Personally think it should of have never been illegal. From the times Ive smoked it when I was younger I agree with the above. Alcohol is so much more worse than weed. People dont kill people when on weed while driving or even when it comes to murder, they dont get into fights,,,,,,,,,,,,,,alcohol is way bigger of a gateway drug being that its 10 times more difficult to control yourself when you are drunk and have no idea what you are doing.

You could smoke a garbage bag full of weed and still know what you are doing.

I'm not voting. I consider the poll typically vague. I do support the use of medical marijuana in a controlled atmosphere. I don't support recreational use of marijuana for anyone at anytime or place.

I've yet to hear any coherent argument as to keeping it illegal, much less from someone that also has to reconcile that belief with supporting gun rights.
