Submitted everything 2/3/16 interview done late September. I called a little after my one year they said an other 6-8 weeks. It's mid June and still no permit. I'm guessing I got in a group with a lot people. At this point I'm hoping I'll get it in 18 months.

July 1st is my 16 month. I called the PPO today and said another 3 months. At this point all of us in process are gonna set a record for longest wait time in recorded history

Well, at least she was accurate when she said they weren't going to even bother sending it to the judge for three months. So, we should start getting antsy every time we check the mailbox toward the end of September?
In recent years, several counties have been taking heat over the length of time it is taking for permits to be processed. Basically, they are playing games with the PL400 that says they must be done in 6 months. So, what they are doing is holding back the flow of applications from the judges, such that once it is sent to the judge, he or she is able to make their decision in 6 months or less. They then claim that everything that happens before it goes to the judge, is not part of the 6 month window called for in the law. That's how they claim that they are not violating the law!
What is so sad, if not pathetic, is that some counties process them in a matter of weeks, - from start to finish! The process in Erie County's PPO, and others, is, IMHO, made to run as slow as possible. There have been countless posts written that detail how they deliberately take the slowest path possible when processing permits, - and they have been known to lie to you as well. How do I know? Well, in my case, they told me that it was taking months to process the background checks using the paper methods they will complain they are forced to use. But guess what? A couple of years later, when I obtained a copy of my file through a FOIA request to their bosses in the Erie County Clerks Office, I discovered written proof that my background checks were completed online within 2 days after I applied! Yet, they proceeded to tell me that the checks were not yet done for months after that! Unfortunately, complaining about it will only put you squarely on their shit list, - as I personally found out.
Short of a massive overhaul, and the forced retirement of Wilmer Fowler, that place will never change, unless and until someone successfully sues them.

Unless some sort of a miracle happens....looks like. I honestly was deflated a little when I called, really thought some progress had occurred with permits. As near as I can tell, there a ton of us sitting in the same pile

When I applied they said to expect 14 months. It's so wrong that it takes so long for this process. I could buy a gun in the streets of buffalo tonight, but to follow the laws, be a good citizen and do it legally I will have to wait well in excess of a year. There is no possible explanation for taking so longer other than it is done deliberetly.

Been a little bit so thought would update.
Coming up on 18 months on the first, called ppo today and found out it get sent upstairs to the judge for review/signature. She estimates another couple weeks. Was pretty damn happy to finally get some good news in the terms of weeks, not months.
Hopefully in the very near future have THE update we all wait for

Damn you. I saw that you posted and I thought you were going to say you finally got it. Since we're so close in time and locale I got excited cuz I've been out of town for a week and haven't been able to check my mail. At least she said weeks. I'll believe it when I see it though. It's 19 months today for me.

Haha I can't blame you. Everyday been checking the mailbox like a kid waiting for Christmas. Had huge let down when the damn water bill showed last month. Saw 'Erie county' and had a flash of excitement immediately followed by huge disappointment
