Ever find anything strange in the woods?

So I started this thread a couple years ago In the other place.add your strange things.

This hunting season I put a blind over a ravine.every morning before light ,(pitch black) IV been seeing what looks like a candle light about 120 yards from the blind.this is in the middle of the ravine,quarter mile from the road.the light doesn't move,is in the same general spot,and lasts from a few seconds to maybe a minute.there is nothing there to throw a reflection, and no light around to reflect.
It interests me,might be what the local Indians called witch lights.I'm not superstitious but would like to find an explnation.that's my strange thing found this hunting season.

Not really strange but I found an old tree stand on my property. I looks like its been there for years, the wood is rotten and you can tell it hasnt moved for awhile.

Old aluminum climber.id replace the wood and use it.get a ladder stick and make it semi permanent!

I think I may have replied this before. When I was younger my Dad always had beagles and we would run rabbits all winter. If you have ever been to the Alabama swamps, when you go to the road where the shooting range is, coming from the west on the corner there is a stand of pines. Well years ago it held lots of bunnies, while walking through I found a Case Sodbuster stuck in the tree, cool right ? Well had it for years and used to use it as my field dressing knife. While hunting at a buddies place in West Clarksville I took a doe, field dressed her and dragged her down the hill. When I got down it was dark then went to clean up the deer a bit and noticed my knife was gone, dammit! left it stuck in the tree. Well i could have walked back up to get it but we were leaving that night so I'll get it next week, nobody gonna find it. Fast forward to next weekend go back down go up in the woods at first light and eventually make my way to the spot......no knife, kicked around in the leaves, nothing ! So I suppose somebody must have happened by, what are the chances ? and found themselves a well used Sodbuster. Pass it on, LOL

old glass bottles where i hunt .. in a small woods in town behind some houses a old mattress .. dang teenagers .. wounder what they were doing .. LOL ..
at the hunting camp thats been in the family and friends since i was born .. now there is a BBQ grate 6 foot up in the air on a tree .. I'll have to get a photo next time i'm up there ..

As a teen out in the woods plinking,
we found Two trees attached by ONE branch.
the two trees were about 3 feet apart and both were about 6-8" in diameter.

we thought someone must have spliced the branch into one or the other tree.

1 mile hike down hill on a marked trail to a secret trail that starts at the state land border (wasn't always state land) Then 1/4 mile hike to river.

That's creepy. I'm pretty sure that's what's going on in the woods beyond the field that's behind my house. It ain't a street lamp, that's for sure.

When I was a kid me and my family were coming off the highway by my home. Dad stopped for all of us to take a leak, we couldn't make it home. So we all step out of he car do our thing and me and my cousins see this rolled up carpet. We jump on it and kick it and try to rolling down the ditch. We got back in the car after getting yelled at and the next week my dad called me over to see the evening news. That rug had a body in it, he was like you guys are stupid. Should have seen a leg or head so you can stop wandering around.
Creeped me out.

I think I may have mentioned this before, but after a long day of hunting I stood at the edge of a creek I needed to ford, It was then I looked down and saw, my reflection.

My 8th Grade Math teacher. This isn't as weird as it sounds because his property borders ours. But opening weekend this year I was walking our line and saw another hunter just a little too close to our line for my liking. When I got closer I realized hey it's Mr. R! (He's also a big hunter). It was nice to catch up. Still gave me grief about my trigonometry though.

Looks like a big bear.we have tons of them in chautauqua county now.that's why I can't have bird feeders at my camp anymore

Its actually not even a print, its a thin patch in the snow that just happens to look like a print.
I know all about the stupid bears around here, we have been in a war with them for a decade. I like having them around but they mess with our bee hives, they mess with our fences, even electric fences and they mess with our chickens and turkeys.
Our dogs are pretty effective at chasing them away but as time goes by, the dogs get less interested in chasing them. Its like they are accepting them.

Did you appologize to him and admit how important Trig is and that you , and every person you know, uses it daily? NOT!

The only "cool" stuff I found were live ,linked, 7.62 blanks where the local Militia ( National Guard) held manoeuvers . Still have some.

That's creepy. I'm pretty sure that's what's going on in the woods beyond the field that's behind my house. It ain't a street lamp, that's for sure.

Not unusual to see a mylar balloon in the woods but this creepy smiley face one landed at the base of my tree stand 2 years ago.

I just found that target last week, never downloaded the pics until now and just got that done. Here they are: At first I thought the hole had been bored through with some type of a drill. But the more I looked at it, the more it seemed it had to have been a target and thus its position on the downed tree like that. You would not think some moron would use a rock as a target and it was not thin either. The back sure looked like an exit hole of a rifle round. The last pic was taken with flash, it brought out the colors nicely.

I think someone was a true arsehat and a half to have used that for a target if indeed that is a bullet or slug hole. Nice shot though although I have no clue as to the distance if it was from a shot.

We are definitely from the same neck of the woods.town of Carroll is my main hunting grounds.found a piece of metal sticking out of a big cherry tree when I bought the land.pulled it out ant it was a roofers axe!its still hanging on the cabin wall.
