Sounds fine to me. They are paying fair market value and getting the gear to those that really need it right now.

Their property don’t want to pay the price don’t buy it. If a bunch of yokels had the foresight to stockpile shouldn’t the government , we all saw this coming.

I suppose tough shit I'm going with airborne on this one. Mental exercise. Some guy has managed to circumvent weeks' worth of production and has warehouses full of N95 masks, which the country needs. He sets a price of $50 per, no negotiations. In the same way the government can take your land for a road and pay you its fair price--whether you like it or not--I'd say they can do the same here, for the greater good. Pay him the cost of the items, but he doesn't get to keep them.

That's the total from multiple seizures. It wasn't one shitweasel sitting on 150k masks.
And, There's no slippery slope involved. We're already at the bottom of the fucking hill if people can't see the forest for the trees for what's actually going on here.

I might look it it differently if they took some guy's ammo stash because they "needed" it more than the guy who thought to plan ahead, even though its not all that different of a scenario.
