How is this different from competing auto bolt releases which as far as I can tell do the same thing?Hey @Podmonkey I just watch this today may be even better then the auto-bolt release I mentioned earlier.

I have had a basic 10/22 for years, I am familiar with the odd function of the factory release. I understand that the regular bolt release upgrades allows you to slingshot the bolt closed. Both the factory and standard upgrade release allow you to manually lock the bolt back. I am not understanding what the tandemKross product does different. That know also locks the bolt back, when you get your 10/22 you will see what I mean.

That's the scope I'm gonna put on it.
Parallax adjustment from 10 yards-infinity is tge main selling point from me here, though I hear Meopta has phenomenal optical quality for tge monet too.
Ok then, this looks like it gives you an extension with that button to lock the bolt back. Truth I have not seen this mod in person but it look pretty cool. But yes if doing the mod yourself works then that what you should do..I have had a basic 10/22 for years, I am familiar with the odd function of the factory release. You can modify the factory part with a dremel to allow slingshot release too.
Good heads up, though Eurooptics is close enough for me to drive so I could save on shipping
I'd like my Mk IV a lot more if it wasn't such a jamomatic. The hope is the Volquartsen bolt solves this.I have a mk ll government target model that I bought in the early to mid '80s. I've made no changes to anything. Trigger is very good. Aim & pull the trigger, if I don't hit what I aim at it's on me, not the gun. It is a tack driver. I've put all kinds of ammo thru it and never a problem. A bit tedious to disassemble to clean, but no big deal. Hands down my favorite shooter.
What is it doing? Loading problems? Extraction/ejection problems?I'd like my Mk IV a lot more if it wasn't such a jamomatic. The hope is the Volquartsen bolt solves this.

It seems to be either failing to extract or eject spent cases. What is it doing? Loading problems? Extraction/ejection problems?
I have run high velocity almost exclusively, mainly CCI Mini Mags. Also some CCI standard velocity. Brands I have also used include Federal, Remington, Aguila and a fair bit of GECO. Also a few boxes of Winchester. I haven't bothered sending it to Ruger because 1- it's a PITA and 2- I always intended to upgrade it with Volquartsen internals anyway. That sux. Maybe try some higher velocity? I've shot a crap load thru my Mk ll, lower to higher velocity, cheap to more pricey, eats it all. Have you contacted Ruger? I had a little issue with my little .380 Max, called Ruger and they were very helpful. Funky mags so Ruger sent me a couple of new ones, problem solved, quick and easy.
That old looks awesome, but you could probably fix your issues with a new extractor for $25 instead of a new boat for $300.It seems to be either failing to extract or eject spent cases.

Now you're going to need a 22 revolver.
I think my 617 is my favorite gun to shoot lately.
StainlessDo you have the blued metal or stainless magazines? If you have the blued metal magazines you may want to check out a YouTube vid on how to tune the feed lips. For some reason there were some issues to that affect. A bit of feed lip tuning seemed to fix similar issues .
Well, That eliminates that issue then.Stainless
The Volquartsen bolt did indeed do the trick. The Ruger runs like a raped grape ape now. Went through a brick of ammo and other than 3 failures to fire, which I figure to be due to typical rimfire hijinks, it cycled flawlessly. Ammo used was some old federal gameshocks and a few boxes of GECO.
I have like 8,000 of em. I'm in the process of burning off old surplus. 22Get yourself some CCI-Mini Mags!
