For those who carry babyguns (sub compact)G26 vs 43?

Ok so honest question here. Everyone is still all hyped over the G43 and the G26 has damn near gone extinct.

So ok i don't get why, what is the 43 offer over the 26.

From what I have been able to gather... the 43 is actually a little "taller" than the 26 but holds what something like 4 to 27 rounds less, ok so it's slightly thinner?

I carry both appendix, both in gcode holsters. The 43 definitely conceals better than the 26. It is a significant difference under a tshirt for a person of average size and weight.

Basically ones single stacked and the other is double stacked. G26 is double stacked so it will take the g19 extended mags. G43 is single stacked.

Oh god no, i don't see the point to baby guns for the most part, if I was to go for something smaller it's be a .357magnum and only if I was to be wearing work out pants/shorts or sweats on a quick run to say the gas station

***edit*** had a ruger LCR in .357, liked it but it just sat in the safe 99% of the time so I got rid of it

I carry a p30sk, I might entertain an xds for the hell of it. they seem like a lot of bang for the buck.

I have looked at the p30sk only for the fact the closest thing cz offer a is the RAMI and as much as I want one idk I think the p30sk would be nicer in the hand

I think the G 43 has become popular simply because there has been a significant shift towards single stack 9 mm's. Kind of a flavor of the year sort of thing. I do agree that the thin profile of a single stack makes it easier to carry especially for those of us who aren't the thinnest but I don't believe guns like the G 26 and other double stack subcompacts are going anywhere because of the round count capabilities for the extra mags you may also carry.

It melts in the hand for sure, The only down fall is it's a little "fattie".. Other than that it shoots like a dream in LEM.

I shot my buddies vp9 (first HK for me) and it really did feel hella nice in the hand, expect the p30 to feel the same, but idk if the da/sa could match a CGW p07

The 43 offers nothing in my opinion over the 26. I never had a 43 but I had a an XDS 9mm which is about the same size as the 43.

In a holster at 2 o'clock, there was no difference in concealability. I found that grip length is what affects printing rather than width. The difference in width is less than a 1/4 inch in thickness.

I even carry the 26 in an ankle.

The only benefit I see is weight. A single stack is definitely lighter which equals more comfort.

This is the point I am trying to get out, and other than ankle carry, a good belt and holster can offset the weight issue

I've been carrying my new G42. It's a tad smaller than the 43. Went from a 1911 to the G42, comfort and more determined to make kill shots. I bought +2 round extensions on it so it's at 8 rounds total.

I have never picked up a G26. When the G43 came out I saw it at a LGS and asked to see it. That gun fit my hand so well I ran out and bought one the next month when I had the money. That gun single handily made me a glock fan. I Do it think there's pluses and minus of both guns and both still play a role in EDC. I do think if I do go with another small gun I will go with G26 or G33. But before I go down that road I will be buying a G19 & G17.

Most people don't know how to conceal properly anyway. Their holsters have no forward cant causing their grip to stick out. Instead of getting a better holster, they buy a smaller gun. When that alleviates the problem somewhat but still prints a little, they go 2 other ways.

One. They wear an outer shirt or a bigger shirt.

Two. They tell themselves "Fuck it" and convince themselves that it is okay to print.

Three. They get an even smaller gun like a .380 for those times when they know that they cannot print.

I used to carry a full sized 1911 wearing just a t shirt and shorts. It was possible because of a heavy forward cant.
