The ability to get one in NYC.
One thing you are no including or understanding....
There Badge and ID IS a permit. They are only adding one additional level of documentation. \
BTW, there are many, many in the city that have Permits.

Former cops and celebrities mostly for a full carry. Everyone else gets only a work related permit or a premise permit. One thing you are no including or understanding....

Not when they retire. They have to get a permit like everyone else. The difference is that they get one automatic in most cases while others in antigun counties get eother premise only or restricted.I am not in the City. I only know a couple from that cesspool; I have no idea except what is said here of the hardships in getting a permit there.
And again, cops already are permitted to have a pistol, they have a badge, an ID and have gone through more checks than the non cop does.

"The leo's could form a powerfull ally nationwide" Sure; right. If it weren't for them we could have a pistol just as fast as we could machine an 80% and no busybody could do a d*mn thing about it! Like the rest of the country! Not when they retire. They have to get a permit like everyone else. That an average citizen cannot get in an antigun county. That's the issue.Correct.... Again, they already have a permit, they are only transferring what they already have to a different form!
Because the leftist nuts and their rino enablers can't stand the idea of FREEDOM to arm one's self, like the entire country had up to several decades ago, like the entire non-slave world had before the early 1900's.What a about a cop that was behind a desk the vast majority of his career? Why should he be allowed to carry after retirement? What about the media relations officers? School resource officers, DARE officers ect. Maybe only certain officers should be allowed to carry. They don't all have equal risk levels in retirement. Seems ridiculous because it is. The reason you list for retired cops to carry is total shit not backed by the constitution. Shall not be infringed is not followed by if there is a perceived need. Everyone should be equal. Former military can't carry in the city. Many of them pissed off lots of really dangerous people. Former CIA officers can't even carry in the city without jumping through hoops and begging the dopes in the NYPD for permission. The risk to retired officers is a shit reason to have separate classes of citizens. What about the average joe that testified against a gang member? Or is going to testify. His life is in danger. Surely the royalty in the NYPD would approve his permit app.
I'm responding to the issue brought up that if the cops shared the same infringements as we all do, the fight with the law makers may actually work.Completely different issue, Will. Your fight should be the law makers; not the cops!

I was going a bit off topic. IWhat special Rights? In regards to Pistol Permits. That is what this story is about. In regards to PP, what do cops have that the rest of society does not?
Yes. I do hate many judges.Do you hate judges as well? Hell, they can approve their own permits. Did you know that/ No references need to be called. No nothing, application and sign. Wow, that is so unfair!
He's not a cop anymore and not retired. I have a feeling he will get the permit though.I am not in the City. I only know a couple from that cesspool; I have no idea except what is said here of the hardships in getting a permit there.

I don't know what it is that you are arguing. The issue here is what is good for the goose is good for the gander. No special classes. If the regular citizens of NYC cannot get a full carry, neither should he when he becomes one.But again, if they want a Permit, they still have to go through the same process as everyone else. It still costs the same amount of money. They are still required to notify the State when they add a new gun.
Oh come on now. You know damn well retired LEO's can get permits in the city (and other counties) while a retired software engineer or Dr. can't.But again, if they want a Permit, they still have to go through the same process as everyone else. What? The former cop in question has nothing. He's not a cop, he's no longer employed and he didn't retire. They stamped his ID with "No Firearms). Even if cops do have permits... that's still special treatment in many places. He will win the appeal when most don't due to his former profession. They already have a permit. They are not getting anything extra.
And why did they get one in the first place? They already have a permit. They are not getting anything extra.
And why did they get one in tyne first place?
Even off duty? Why can't a NYC plumber carry one off duty?Because the CPL says so. In order to be a cop, you need to legally possess a gun.
That one was kind of a dumb question.
He does. The fact that employment = more rights is the definition of special treatment. It's so simple to see! I know goperfect sees it!

The badge is not really a permit but that's semantics. You seem angry. I thought you didn't want swearing on the forum (if memory serves me right). Don't go writing anger tickets tonight sir!Because he does not have an ID and a badge.
The Badge is a fucking permit. Why is that so hard to understand?
