BTW, there are many, many in the city that have Permits.

Former cops and celebrities mostly for a full carry. Everyone else gets only a work related permit or a premise permit.
I am not in the City. I only know a couple from that cesspool; I have no idea except what is said here of the hardships in getting a permit there.
And again, cops already are permitted to have a pistol, they have a badge, an ID and have gone through more checks than the non cop does.

Not when they retire. They have to get a permit like everyone else. The difference is that they get one automatic in most cases while others in antigun counties get eother premise only or restricted.

I'm responding to the issue brought up that if the cops shared the same infringements as we all do, the fight with the law makers may actually work.
But again, if they want a Permit, they still have to go through the same process as everyone else. It still costs the same amount of money. They are still required to notify the State when they add a new gun.
Do you hate judges as well? Hell, they can approve their own permits. Did you know that/ No references need to be called. No nothing, application and sign. Wow, that is so unfair!

I don't know what it is that you are arguing. The issue here is what is good for the goose is good for the gander. No special classes. If the regular citizens of NYC cannot get a full carry, neither should he when he becomes one.

What? The former cop in question has nothing. He's not a cop, he's no longer employed and he didn't retire. They stamped his ID with "No Firearms). Even if cops do have permits... that's still special treatment in many places. He will win the appeal when most don't due to his former profession.
Let's look at something other than permits....
Can you go buy a standard AR with 30 round mags? Or a .22 magnum that holds 30? Yes.
Can I? Not legally.
That means you and your co-workers are getting special treatment. That's another example. If the law was the same for all I think more cops would be in the fight. I could be wrong if most don't care about guns (as it's been said in this thread).
