Yea, if the edge doesnt stick out the razor is kinda useless. DuhThey stick out so they can cut the hairs on your face.

I am talking about the ends, not the cutting edges. The short end that sticks out the side of the razor handle. You don't cut facial hair with that portion.

No -- nose is a tricky area. Have to curl the lip a lot. I'd suggest leaving the tricky parts / angles till you get out of the shower and just do these when you're done. Should only take a minute if you're doing the sideburns / nostrils since they require a mirror.
When razor / blade are you using with it?
Man, all this fancy shaving gear, I ain't got time for all that shit! Give me a simple cartridge razor that I can drag over my face real quick and not slice myself. Not trying to be an artist with this, just trying to look presentable and not be late to work. I think I spend all of 3, maybe 4 minutes shaving.

Just put shaving cream on your face from a can like a man and use any double or triple bladed disposable and be done in 2 minutes. Jeez!

Also, to be fair, a few other legit points:
1) It does take longer, but not that much longer for a single pass shave that most people are doing with a cartridge razor. Some parts of it even go faster. If you do a full three passes, and crack the scuttle out, then yeah it takes substantially longer. If it's just a single pass, and you shake the water out of the razor at the end like most people do and just leave it, then it's pretty quick (10 mins) to shave and just be done. Just rub Arko on your face, brush lather, single pass, done -- if you want to get done asap just to be work/job presentable. (Especially if you're using a synthetic brush, they dry really easily / don't take long to shake out.)
2) We do a lot of things that aren't practical. It's not fully about the practical component. It's part practical (honestly, you do get a closer shave), but it's also time to just slow down and mentally think through your day. That's not a horrible thing. It's not the most "time" practical choice, but some time to slow down and mentally focus -- and maybe enjoy the process a bit -- isn't without merit either.
Anyway, that's my take on it. I'm also practical in that a lot of days I skip shaving because I'm just too busy.
