Glock 17 or Canik TP9 SFL?

I have been looking for a full size 9mm for concealed carry.
I was at the local LGS today and they have a Glock 17....not sure what generation and a Canik TP9 SFL......both of which I have researched quite a bit but still cannot decide.
I am going tomorrow morning to buy one of them. If one has been sold, my choice will be easy.
Does anyone have experience with a Canik of any kind?
Im pretty familiar with glocks but which would you pick?
The prices are close....the glock is $499 and the Canik is $529.
The Canik comes with a decent holster and 2 magazines...and backstraps.
The Glock comes with 3 magazines.....not sure about anything else.

Glock 17 was my original plan but then I saw the Canik.
Ive seen good reviews on the Canik but im familiar with Glock....I carry one everyday.

They also have 2x Glock 43x.....Springfield Hellcat and 3x Sig 365....and a Ruger Max 9....but I already have a punny 9mm.....I want a full size dammit!!

I definitely here you and im 99% positive ill get the glock.
But, the Canik comes with apparently one of the best stock triggers out there....many compare to Walther.
It also comes with Warren Tactical sights....fiber optic front and blacked out rear. It has a 5.2 inch barrel.
These are some things you may want to replace on the glock.
As far as track record....they have been around a few years with really good reviews from trusted sources.
I dont really care about the Turkey thing. Thats something that gets really blown out of proportion.
Oh, and the aftermarket is pretty good and growing. The only thing id probably want is some holsters and there are plenty of those out there.Annnd, I hear their lifetime warrenty is pretty good and good support.

I am not about supporting Turkey so I say Glock.
Objectively speaking however people seem to like the Canik series. But if you can get the Glock cheaper, I'd definitely go with the Austrian.

It's not surprising everyone is saying Glock. Canik is a budget brand, nobody is willing to pay a premium for a budget brand. Kinda like the KIA Stinger GT, nobody wants to pay 50k+ for a KIA. But like the Stinger GT the Canik is a good product. It also happens to be made in a fundamentalist Muslim nation run by a dictatorial psychopath.

My local FFL put his personal G17 in the gun case last month for $1200. Sold to the first guy who saw it.

Bought a new G17 a few years ago and no regrets. Eats everything I feed it. Opted for a GEN 3 due to the finger grooves, parts availability and track record. Finger grooves on my GEN 3 G19 need to be tweaked a bit (trigger guard mod helped greatly) but the G 17 fits me perfectly. Looking at a 43X right now as my EDC. Sorry Kimber ultra ...

I have spent some time with both glock and canik. The canik has a better crisper trigger. But otherwise compares well against the Glock. I would however go with the Glock (I made a similar decision a while back between the two brands) my reasoning is this: for a self defense conceal carry firearm I take emotion out of the decision. It is meant to be a tool that is used to get the job done. For me the criteria was this:
-track record of reliability
-ease of finding replacement parts
-ease of finding accessories
-ease of dissasembly
-ease of performing repairs myself if need be
-cost of replacement parts
-cost of spare magazines
-widest selection of holster choices
-widest selection of sighting system options
-widest selection of caliber options
-ease of carryability and shootability

when I looked at both brands, Glock met all my criteria better than the canik. (I do know that shootability and carryability are subjective to ones personal taste)

Glock will always Trump any other pistol in terms of logistics. Frankly I'd go with the before the. The Glock 19 is the omni-end-of-days gun, suitable for all things in all conditions.

Another big plus for the Glock is the widespread availability of 22 conversion kits. These days I throw my AA conversion kit on my G17 and have a ball shooting steel plates at the range. Comes with adjustable sights, and loading tool. Might take 15 seconds to install it.

I carried a glock 17 for years on duty. For reliability I would go glock. Glock has more after market support. The canik has better stock trigger, better sights and are also very reliable. If I was buying the glock I would upgrade the trigger, sights and stipple the frame. The canik I would use as is. Both are good handguns.

After calling the LGS, the Canik is actually the "better" of the SF series, its the SFX...not the less expensive SFL model.
So, it has a couple added features including being cut for a red dot. From all ive heard it is a lot of gun for the money......decisions!!

I have a glock and im about to get 2 more on May 4th.
They are a 27...icky and a 31....icky.
But they are 100% free
And a S&W Governor....duh
And a Ruger P95....uggg
And a Ruger SR1911....ok
And a Taurus P740 in 40 cal.....puke.
