My Walthers will fail every test just as proudly as any Glock, Sig, or HK.
Yes, they make these test guidelines up to cause guns to fail. Yes, guns fail them.
The next time I slip into quicksand pit and then a mud puddle and then a sand pit and then an open slide quick set concrete with a side of super glue BDSM chamber, then I will get my willy measuring stick out for re-calibration.

I like sigs and glocks, and its not abnormal to protest these things given the size of the contract. Its really just SOP.

When the M14 was tested against the FNFAL in the finals for Americas main battle weapon, it lost, but history shows clearly that the M14 was indeed our issue rifle for a time. Funny how that works.

Same thing with the Army Combat Uniform. The grey ACU pattern lost to others yet still got adopted because some General wanted it.
It failed so miserably in Afghanistan that they had to issue troops there multicam. They finally got rid of that damned pattern that worked nowhere.
The same may have happened here with the Sig. Don't they watch the Military Arms Channel?

Glock isn't going to win this one, heaven forbid. In addition to meeting all the criterion and passing the trials SIG cut the Army a killer deal on these pistols, something like $200 and change per gun. After loosing this contract to Beretta years ago and more recent contracts with the FBI, Marines and SOCOM I don't SIG will let this one slip away.
Glock protested because of the way the contract was won and the fact that Glock apparently already has a contract that is sort of supposed to supercede this one. I don't know the specific details, but from what I read, their protest has teeth and will likely be won.
News to me. I thought the SIG was always favored. I don't like the contract monopoly Glock is trying to force.
