I could see that, in fact I thought that was an odd place to put that. Walther just bevels the magazine baseplates to achive the same thing.

The cutout on the grip/mag well to strip out a sticking mag is a finger pincher when shooting.

I think the soltion to that so far is a different base plate that filled the cut out. Which then begs the question why have the cut out
Indeed. Begs the question of why is Glock fixing what wasn't broken? But I like some of the other improvements/changes the gen 5s have.
Some are ok yes, but again glock doesn't listen to the customers. They see people add magwell so what do they do form the frame to have a half ass magwell thst actually prevents after market magwell that help with more than just reloads (helps with grip as well) along with a few other issues.
Imho the only "new" glock that would be worth my time or money would have to be the rumored rotating barrel and that would be just because weird.
Edit and i doubt we will ever see those here in the U.S.
I don't want a magwell funnel, if that's what you are referring to, on a gun like a G19. A gun like that I want as clean and svelte as possible. On a G34 sure, prefectly appropriate accessory for that model.
And rotating barrels have their own advantages and disadvantages. Nothing that puts it over tiliting barrel designs.
Part one, lot of new after market carry magwell that are not as funnelly as a competition style but give some funnel for the magazine and add almost no addtional size to the grip. Agency arm's is a popular one.
And for part 2 again I'd only want one just because it's actually something different from glock it'd just be for "collecting"
