I've seen some dumb gun related products. It's hard to say if this is the dumbest.. but it's way up at the top of the list in any case.
At our clubs trap range, we furnish 6" squares of hard rubber, cut from stock trailer mat, at each trap shooting station to serve this purpose.
Shooting that 45-70 into the ground like he did was dumber than the product.

People mock what they don’t know.
If you are shooting trap, no matter what type of shotgun you are using, the firearm is EMPTY / NOT LOADED
BUT YOU WILL NEVER SEE A SHOOTER with a loaded shotgun rest it on his foot, just saying.
This is proper protocol. Typically I'll drop a shell into the chamber after the next guy goes. The action does not move until I'm pulling up my gun to aim.If you are shooting trap, no matter what type of shotgun you are using, the firearm is EMPTY / NOT LOADED, until you are readying to call for your bird. The shooter normally loads when the person two positions ahead of him calls for his bird, when a firarm is loaded, IT REMAINS POINTED DOWNRANGE IN A SAFE DIRECTION. Regular trap is 'one bird' - shooter who are using pumps or semi-autos ONLY LOAD 1 INDIVIDUAL SHELL INTO THE FIREARM AT A TIME., THEIR MAGAZINES ARE NEVER LOADED TO CAPACITY. If shooting a doubles round, two shells are loaded, (You're gona be shooting at two clay birds thrown simultaneously). - BUT YOU WILL NEVER SEE A SHOOTER with a loaded shotgun rest it on his foot, just saying.
and i would not suggest you attempt to use this as toe armor against a 45-70 like these guys seem to suggest it was desgined for.I shoot trap and few guys have these things. I use the 6x6 rubber pad that is made from old tires tread. I think it's an old tire? sometimes I put the barrel on my toe. It's no big deal. The gun is empty until the guy next to me calls for his bird, then I load and keep the muzzle down range, when he fires, Im ready to call for my bird. And so on. Makes things go faster during a shoot.
I have no issue with this product. The only time you should use this is at a trap/skeet field. if you use it anywhere else or for any other reason, THEN you're an idiot.

I dont know,I dont shoot trap or skeet, tried it a few times, but I have never had a rifle or shotgun in my hands and had a need or an urge to rest the muzzle on the ground or my toes.I have a short coach gun,12 ga double barl. that we shoot a lot cause its fun, never even thought about resting it in such a position.I dont get it.
