When I was in school there were actual fist fights. The cops were never called to the school.Gotta tell ya, it is indeed assault. The little bastard that kicked out the chair did in fact break the law. It is not up to him to decide who sits or stands during the pledge.
I promise you, if I were to witness this while at work, the chair kicking turd would be in handcuffs and offered a free ride.
Let this be my child that the chair was kicked out from, there would be serious hell to pay. His family would be screwed in more ways than one.
The school disciplined the kids involved in the fight and that was the end of it.
It was a rural school, I don't know if that makes a difference or not. Or maybe the time period.
This was during the 70s and things have obviously changed.
I don't recall ever seeing cops at our school...
If that was my kid I would have let him handle it on his own. But I would have taught him how to deal with a situation
such as this... Just like my father did with me.
GOPerfect, I agree with 99% of your posts. Over the years I have noticed that we somewhat think alike IMHO.
But I have to say, the last sentence in your post just makes me facepalm and shake my head.
