I was planning to do this for a while and had the magic combination of time and ambition today.
Its a small / universal drop tube for my RCBS powder measure. I only got one when I got the measure and its too big for .223. This one works good and should be good to .50 caliber +. Please excuse the teflon tape. I made the threads a little sloppy and the take keeps it from wobbling.

I might build a sig 365 from an 80% though. They have an aluminum grip for it that I really liked.

Waiting on some parts coming in this weekend. Thinking of building a straight pull 18 or 20 .223 Wylde and lightening up my go to 16" by swapping out a 1-4x for a dot and BUIS.
You can build one for 500- 700 bucks. You have to add the cost of the tools and you are over a grand close to 2k

Not pertaining to a build ....... but, I am a 1911 fanboy. I love the classic lines, old school stuff, and 45 acp.
Even though I own no pistols, I have done a ton of research and feel WC to be over priced. For a production gun you can't beat a Dan Wesson out of the box for cost and quality. A lot of bang for your buck. They are in between "run of the mill" and full out customs.
My personal favorites are Nighthawk Customs. I hope to get a PP soon. I'm waiting to apply at this point in time. A NHC will be my first if I don't start with a DW. Home builds can be sweet but take time to make something that's not "run of the mill.'

A have all the parts put together to build a 16" featureless AR, and about 2/3 of the parts for an AR pistol, so I'll be putting those together soon. Was gonna go on a hog hunt before this whole virus crap, so the 458 upper build is on hold.

It looks like there's a new AR in my future. I had a lower, parts kit and Thordsen sitting around. Last night I ordered an upper in 6.5 Grendel.

Last night I got two uppers together, just got to install the gas block and tube. Got one lower is complete working finishing on two more. For shits and grins I am going to start a pistol today. Should be a fun day in the gun room.

My Mossberg 351KA and 500A projects are complete, so I've been pondering a summer project, likely a muzzle loader. Years ago I did a Lyman Great Plains kit, mostly just to get another deer tag. The kit was a breeze and the rifle came out really nice. Now I'd like to step things up...not from complete scratch though. Maple stock, double set triggers, a little brass...maybe a flint lock. My SAR chapter has a few guys who want to form an honor guard, so maybe something that would be appropriate that endeavor. I've been watching a guy on Utube named Bill Raby build a Lancaster rifle...I'm learning stuff, and he's fun to watch. I figure a build will probably/easily start at the $1K mark, but my Wuhan flu money is in the bank.

Nice. I built basically the same thing, larger, but I haven't been able to get time to put panelling on (and building shit like this by yourself is a PITA). Nice work.

I'm thinking of building a .223 (.556), yes, I do not have one. Just casual search for parts and the .223 Wylde keeps turning up. I haven't looked into it yet. Does this caliber require a separate set of dies? Can standard .223 be fired in this chambering? Is their any real advantage to going in that direction?
I'll start digging in when I get some time, but can someone give me a thumb nail sketch on this caliber?

I dont know the answer to your reloading question but everything I have is Wylde rather than 5.56 or .223. Allegedly the best of both worlds, can shoot .223 and 5.56 with a margin of better accuracy than a standard 5.56. Mine is in 1:8 twist for a variety of bullet weights. I'm in the process of building a second one.

Thanks BD!!!! I'll look into it a little further. Being able to get in on those bulk ammo deals is a big lure!!!!! If it requires a special set of dies, I'm okay with that.

Haven't done anything for myself in a while. Well stocked before this COVID panic, and with my business pretty much ground to a halt, all recreational spending is pretty much on hold.
Did a couple of builds for my brother and brother-in-law. They were featureless NY fugly builds off a DPMS kit from Palmetto. Functional for now to get them through the next few.months, and then each of them will do a real build.

I would stay away from the polymer lowers.
OK here are the new stable mates. All are fixed mags as I have featureless covered and want to play with some features.
Top is 16” Ballistic Advantage .223 Wylde barrel wearing Odin Works metallic orange furniture and a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x. All built on an @Eddie Gunks FUAC lower.
Middle rifle is an Odin Works 6.5 Grendel 16” barrel with Samson handguard and BUIS and Magpul fixed stock.
Bottom build is a 20” BCA barrel in .308 on an Aero upper and lower set (DPMS2) with Troy Diamondhead BUIS.
Still need to figure out glass for Grendel and .308 but I’m pleased with how everything turned out.
