Always grab the best tool for the job, and often different tools are best for different circumstances. Some tasks may require multiple tools to get the job done right.
.Red Dots are great but they cost alot of money and you need to spend more money to mill the slide unless you have a factory mounting plate setup which suck anyway. And then you need to get all new holsters.......
So yeah, red dots on pistols are great but they are a big pain in the ass. Pretty much anything that requires to to ship gun somewhere sucks because it is such a damn hassle to even find someone that will ship the thing in the first place.

I agree with you! After spending a ton of $$ to have a red dot mounted you have to consider if it will hold up to the shock of the slide movement. Notch and blade seem to be the only option. I just wish I could get my target acquisition faster!! Lol

Thanks for posting. I didn't realize p10s are now being made in the US, and that they come with orange outlined tritium front sights, with a new reversable mag release design that fixed the stiff ambi button on other models. Good to know.

Hello Kansas. welcome to the asylum.
I am a pure iron sight guy for my handguns. I use my handguns for self protection. No aiming needed when defending close range.
+1 on this ^^^^!
The only change I make on my handguns, as far as sights go, is night sights on my EDC, and nightstand gun.
ETA: I do have a red dot on my target .22, and also on my Ruger Charger.

The notch and blade system is better known as Patridge sights, and falls within the realm of iron sights. I believe this would include peep sights too. I have a red dot on a Mark IV, but have not had it out yet...my eyes are getting too old...
