I work in NYC. I’m young, college educated, work in one of the most liberal industries in the city (tech), and I would never consider an interview. Why? Because of how liberals treat libertarians and conservatives in general.

I’ve never shunned anyone liberal for their ideology, no matter how much I may disagree with them. That’s because I value the discourse — or at least, I’d like to have it.

Yet, when people find out I’m a libertarian, they just default to “right wing nut job.” The conservation immediately shuts down, and my opinion immediately discarded. That’s why I’ve never had a productive discussion with anyone during my time working in the city.

The silent majority is silent because the media shunned them out of the public. That’s why you’re not going to get the interviews that matter, with the non-typical conservatives of the modern age.

I will throw my .02's cents out there,

If you want to honestly learn about guns you have some "pre requisites" to know first
Before you want to talk about guns in America...


Read the preamble to the declaration of independence and then read the first 10 amendments of the constitution. These are our Bill of rights specifically upholding and affirming our God given natural rights. Understand American history how our country came to exist. Learn how frigging awesome and wise our founders were.


Next,

I will spare the justification since I don't need to justify to anyone why I want to own guns.


I will simply use logic.

Gun control does. Not. Work. Only law abiding people would follow it. Those are not the people you need to worry about . criminals by their very nature don't care about laws they will break them.

We already have laws against murder.

It doesn't matter if someone wants to rent a truck and drive it down a bike path, blow up a building with fertilizer or kill people with pressure cookers, or tamper with and Poison consumer products. If someone is evil and wants to do bad things they will find a way. The only thing stopping an evil person is a good person with courage and with force.

Americans also never want to be victims of a tyrannical government. We are generally wary and suspicious of totalitarian regimes . if you study history you will realize we are correct. The worst dictators in history all disarmed their citizens first before slaughtering them.

These are ball park un official numbers but it may put this in perspective for you .

There are more than 300 million guns in this country owned by private citizens. There are more guns than people. I read that EVERY DAY enough guns are sold to private citizens to equip an infantry division to put it in perspective for you.

Of those 300+ million, possibly 15 million are AR15 style rifles or similar. Then add in all the other guns that are functionally interchangeable like mini 14s, mini 30s, sks, m1carbine, SU16s, m1a, saigas etc and the number is probably like 50 million. 50 million "assault rifles" (in using that sarcastically) in the hands of private citizens and then a crap ton of shotguns, hunting rifles and hand guns . it's not possible they will all go away, never. Even if it was possible to confiscate them all, criminals can still 3d print guns relatively easily . Look up 80% lower AR15 receivers and how to build them .You can't stop it. People can literally make guns in their garage.

Guns are never going away. So that means criminals will always have them .Therefore I need to preserve my natural right to defend myself and family with any available means.

We take personal responsibility seriously, we take being responsible for our own safety and the safety of others seriously.

That certainly is different in American culture. We are a very self reliant people and do not want to depend on the government or others to do things for us. There is no excuse for not doing all you can do to provide for and protect your family.

One last thing, if you want to be taken seriously as a journalist you should understand why the people you want to interview are reluctant to cooperate.

It's been mentioned like 10 times so far but...

You need to understand how we are usually represented by the media.

So that is your angle then, trick us to think you are on our side? Joke is on you! Most gun owners don't have a side, we can read. You don't need a side when you have the founding documents in your pocket.

In a sense, journalist have brought this wrath upon themselves. Given the First Amendment has no ground rules requiring truths and applied logic. You can't yell "Fire" in a movie house but you are allowed to lie your ass off if you work for the NY Times. I don't believe in First Amendment restrictions, respect my Second Amendment and the world will be just fine.

Maybe, just maybe, Sascha Cohen or whoever he is, isn't the smartest man in the world and got trolled. Nobody should support arming toddlers.

And FYI. when Project Veritas does things like this, and exposes criminal and amoral behavior by lefties, all the "journalists" deny it and refuse to cover it with some even demanding criminal charges be filed.

The hypocrisy is amazing but not even one tiny bit surprising.

Tell me, @Jordi Rubio, if you believe the United States is so dangerous because of all the guns here, why did you leave your home country to come here?

While we are at it, think about this. The 2nd Amendment has been with us for over 225 years. Just in the last 100 years or so, over 100 million citizens have been killed by their own governments when those citizens could not defend themselves in countries such as Russia, China, Germany, and others. Thus, our Founding Fathers of this great country have been proven right, time and time again, that gun control is the greatest threat of all.

While I agree with you and give you an A for effort we did this dance with him some time ago. Now, I'm going to have this discussion with my cat. It will be more rewarding.
