Here we go again- cops shoot unarmed black man in San Diego

Wow, Some have really shown their deep ugly sides for sure.

I would like to repeat something. It is one of my favorite statements.

We do not have a gun problem in the US of A...

We do not have a race problem in the US of A.

We have an ASSHOLE problem here.

Guns do not kill people and not all criminals are Black.

Not all Black Americans are thugs and crime junkies.

Their is enough trash in all walks of life.

Don't take my wood for it, go to any County lockup or prison, you will see it has a little bit of all trash!

My father passed away earlier this year after a months long struggle to recover from a blood clot that killed off most of his intestines. He made a good go of it, the doctors were amazed he had survived at all. I think I can try to sum up my father's character with this. My father had long worked as a bakery/foods distribution salesman. He was very hands on at his job, he was always visiting his customers, bring them odds and ends of orders they'd forgotten about or didn't receive. He would do this in his personal vehicle, at all hours in the DC area. Even when his health began declinin and his mobility was restricted he still made his rounds. He took an old school approach to sales. He wouldn't make false promises, he was always honest and fair to everyone he met. I was with him on a visit on one of his last days with his company, Bakemark, he was getting ready to retire. He walked with a cane so if I was around on a visit he'd get me to help with his deliveries, clever old man, and we'd talk as we went. One of his last stops was at a small African style bakery, it was run by this tiny woman, an African Immigrant that started up this small but successful bakery. When he told here he was retiring, the smile just ran off her face and she stepped around the counter and embraced my father, weeping. That is the kind of man my Father was. Since his passing I have tried hard to live up to the values he raised me with. Treating people, no matter who they were, what they looked like or where they were from, with dignity, respect and kindness. He was a great man, I wish you could have had the opportunity to meet him. You would be a better person for it. That was the common theme shared by many at his funeral. To suggest that I am like my father is a great compliment.
God I miss that man!

Fair enough. Nearly all people form opinions by their life learnings. Again, I am a realist. I see the world as clear as can be. I know where many of our issues and problems lie. I see it each and everyday while at work. I have never faulted a man for his inner thoughts, me, I am what I am and I have deep thoughts about a many issues. Some I share and some I do not. Once again, numbers can lie, but life lessons do not.

I didn't read any of this, but in repsonse to the title, I'm betting today in America, there was at least one white man shot and killed today that was unarmed by police.

If blacks want to fix those statistics, they would join together as a community and change that inner city culture. Why don't they want to fix that? People with cancer want to be cured, poor people want to be rich, prisoners just want to breath the free air and feel sun on their faces, old people just want to be young again. So why don't they want to fix that clearly drama-ridden sub culture?

That's a very interesting point you bring up... and I think the answer is that many people do want to better their communities. I really believe that one of the biggest problems amongst the black community is that they have poor leadership, and by "poor" I mean people (Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, et al.) who have a strong vested financial interest in propagating the hate and the discrimination. If the plagues scourging the inner city black communities suddenly disappeared, Jackson and Sharpton would be out of business- and they know it.

I recall reading about a big push by the Democratic party in the 1950s and 60s to get more black families on welfare and social programs because it would essentially forever guarantee the black vote for the Democratic Party. There's a sound bite that I heard with Lyndon Johnson admitting to it. I'll try to see if I can find it online and repost it here.

I'm going to leave this open, for now. I hope people that find this thread can realize who holds what beliefs and doesn't judge the entire community because of what some of it's members believe.

We have very, very few rules here. The second rule of this site is no racism. I don't care if you hate whites, blacks, Asians, Indians, or whoever. I don't want to hear about it, and I don't want to see it on this site. The fourth rule is no insulting other users. We're all in this fight together and are on the same side. There is no reason to be insulting to other members.

You will rarely hear news that does not benefit the agenda of that media outlet. BLM sells newspapers. Whites being violated doesn't.

It's the "dumbing down" of America. But honestly, most Americans have ZERO CLUE about the true way America was designed. The Founding Fathers did not believe in free education for all, did not want the Government to decide what the education should be, did not believe that poverty shouldn't be tolerated, and existed at a time where clearly everyone believed there were superior and inferior races. So when someone sees racism, lack of social programs for the poor, inequality among the sexes, and looks you square in the eye and says "This is not what America stands for" they are parroting something they were brainwashed into thinking. America doesn't "stand for something specific" any more than any other country "stands for something specific". American history has been scrubbed and sterilized so that a specific message could be droned into all of our brains. The message may change over time though, and so the media and historians that write school books go back and re-write history. The media is looking to make money for their stock holders. Some news sells better than other news. The media saw a great cash cow in MLK, Malcolm X, Farrkhan, Jesse, and Al Shapton. They adjusted what they thought was "newsworthy" to execute to the agenda of those cash cows. Obama is a product of a generation that thought black news was a bigger seller than white news. He isn't creating the racial divide, he is just a puppet that is executing the already existing media agenda. He was brainwashed by a life of media manipulation. Someone working and commuting 60 to 100 hours a week has no time to research many versions of a possible truth. He or she is working, commuting, raising a family, paying bills, etc. So whatever Fox or CNN says is gospel. 250 years ago the Founding Fathers had time to share thoughts and citizens had time to listen to them. That is not the case now. Back then people lived a simpler life and had a 20 year plan or a 30 year plan. Now it's instant gratification. If we cannot know everything about a subject in 7 minutes; then it was a subject not worth knowing about.

Podmonkey -- nice tribute to your Dad, -- I have been lucky in knowing several men like him, and I started paying close attention to them from about age 12 or 13 -- when they were busy kicking my ass when I needed it -- and teaching me about integrity. -- for 56 or 57 years I've been recalling their teachings, on a weekly basis - and I carry their influence with me every day of my life -- we need more heroes like this -- it also brings to mind a proverb I read somewhere -- " Sad is the country that is in need of heroes. " -- and America needs more heroes, right now.
