I think this bill is a distraction. This is a junior senator trying to make some hay. There will be a bigger, worse bill and we won't see it in writing until all the important people in the governor's caucus have agreed to foist it on us, as with the "SAFE" Act. I doubt this one will become law.

This one is so poorly written it would be laughable if it weren't such a sickening invasion of privacy.

Ugh. I hope you are both right and wrong for the right reasons.

I have an idea for an amendment. Require social media checks for anyone who wants to be hired as a law enforcement officer, too. After all, if merely owning a gun justifies intense background scrutiny, then obviously such scrutiny should also be applied to someone who will not only own a gun, but actually be allowed to carry it around and legally shoot people. Someone contact the Republicans in the legislature and get this moving!
