He’s not outsmarting anyone. He is impulsive and shoots his mouth off. He’s being foolish. If he passes any gun control his approval ratings will drop to about 20% and no chance in hell of getting re-elected. He will never win the liberals over no matter what and he will loose the conservatives if he passes guns control.

In my mind the damage is already done. He signaled he’s open to passing gun laws and possibly a ban. He’s also open to illegal seizure of weapons. This just encourages and solidify atheism attacks on the 2 nd amendment. It will not end. He fanned the flames and the constitution is burning. There is no turning back at this point.

I've been a staunch Trump supporter, but this REALLY concerns me. He needs to not open his mouth until he at least engages his brain a bit. I was 1 of those fools who always figured he was outsmarting the left on each move he was making. But, this 1 scares the hell out of me. He needs to just push those fuckers back, and tell them; "we ARE NOT tearing down the 2A during my Presidency"! That's all I want to hear come out of his mouth at this point. He started this, now he has to figure out how he intends to fix it.!!

Truthfully, I see a lot of defeatist attitudes on the forum. 'Gun control' has been a hot topic for decades, but still you can walk into a gun shop and buy a firearm. Yep, most states other than New York have more choices on which firearm you can purchase. The fact remains you can still walk in and buy one, because you're an American citizen and it's your right. That took like-minded voters, who actually took time to go to the polls. That took voters who actually contacted their legislators with their opinions on various legislation. It was not and will NEVER be easy to defend that right. It takes work and long term dedication to the cause. No law says you have to vote. But it's your right, and if you don't, you're not helping the cause. Writing your legislators with your opinions is also exercising a right to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Sitting around waiting for SCOTUS to rule that the entire US is now Constitutional carry ain't cuttin' the mustard.

It's hard to think outside of your state when it's one as shitty as NY. It kind of sucks you into it's vortex of negativity. Outside of NY it's a whole different world unless it's another communist haven. Thankfully free states still outnumber the combloc states.
