.40 S&W
I originally posted this on reddit, and a couple of pieces are in the reloading section of the forums. I figured this might have some interest across the board.
Part 1
Part 2
YouTube Video Showing a 40 S&W 180 grain vs LEGO, 40 S&W was fired first
Background:
40 S&W fires a 0.401" (10.2 mm) projectile. LEGO minifigure heads are exactly 0.401". A photo of this made rounds of reddit a while back. So I put it to the test.
Answers to FAQ.
1.) Primer Only (Winchester Small Pistol)
2.) FMJ loaded to 1.050" COAL
3.) HP loaded to 1.028" COAL
4.) Chronographing was difficult, but it came out to around 450 fps. Which at the weight of a LEGO head, is the high end velocity of an airsoft rifle.
5.) No plastic in the barrel!
