Willjr75, you're going to have to accept that some people are going to like what they like. They are also going to actively seek info to support their choice and ignore other data. Confirmation bias is prevalent everywhere, especially guns. There is no doubt that current 9mm is a pretty gound handgun round; so are the .40S&W and the .45ACP. There isn't any doubt that the .45 is the largest nor is there any doubt that .40S&W has more kinetic energy than a 9mm. These are irrefutable facts. When people try to argue that the 9mm and .40 are "equal" they try to discount these realities. Now, I am not saying that the 9mm is not effective I am just saying that the two rounds are not the same regardless how much bullet technology has advanced in the past 30 years (a favorite argument of the 9mm fanboys). Nor is the .40 as easy to shoot for new-to-moderately experienced shooters, especially in small guns. I like my midsize .40S&W and it is my go-to gun for all-around caliber. However for deeper concealment I prefer a Kahr CM9 rather than a CM40.

Except kinetic energy isn't a factor in stopping a threat. Check out the FBI Ballistic Manual and the research work from Dr Fackler who helped create the FBI protocols.
I'm not saying the 9mm is better. But neither is the .40 better unless you value a slightly less than a millimeter increase in expansion over the increase in recoil and loss of capacity of 1 or 2 rounds depending. They'll both penetrate about the same depth.

I like my .40 over any other caliber as a CCW.
I couldn’t give a rats ass about who thinks what, what someone else carry’s, what the data shows, how people interpret the data, FBI statistics, what my mother thinks, or anyone here thinks.
It is what I prefer to carry over all else. If I thought I was going up against a bigfoot sized boogeyman, I would CCW my SW .41 mag.

Why the hostility? I don't care what you carry. It affects me none.
Hell 40 is great for a gamer gun, this way you can shoot major loads, throw a good comp on it and the get down to decent recoil

My feeling is and always has been, do it how ever you want but just be comfortable doing it.

I actually like the 165 gr .40 and the .357 Sig. More so the Sig for the added velocity but in a subcompact, the 9mm makes more sense to me. The lack of a full grip makes it harder to control.

I strictly shoot Aguila ammo. Specifically I practice with and carry the full metal jacket Flatnose 180 grain round which is stated to give me approximately 1050 FPS at approximately 440 foot pounds. Truth be told I’ve never really chronographed my firearm don’t know how close I am to the specs.
My SideArm is a Kahr K40 stainless. Obviously being all metal and having the added weight it takes some of the snappiness out of shooting these rounds. After shooting close to 2000 rounds, I have become pretty quick and accurate with follow-up shots.
I am lucky to be able to walk out of the back of my home and into the woods where I have about 12 different steel plates set up to practice.

657 with a 8-3/8” barrel. Took a few deer with it.
Has a lot of sentimental value. I was 21 yrs old when Dad took me out to Edelman’s out in the island to buy it and put it on my NYC Lic. I remember I rode the train to one police plaza to get it registered. Good ole days
Nice mine is the 6.5 barrel with the hogue type S&W grip. I got it in Germany in 1999 so it has the German proof marks stamped into it.

I picked up quite a few guns in Germany and they all have the German proof marks. I have sold off a few of the handguns and a couple of the rifles just to finance other things. The ones I still have are stuck in the family until I am in the ground.

I started reloading for it over 25 years ago because Ammo was so expensive and I wasn’t making much money. Last time I reloaded was probably 15 years back. I still have about 150 reloads left. Now I just buy when I take it out back to shoot.
Yeah I hit one of the local LGS that carry it when I go out shooting too. I do have 1000 Sierra bullets for the 41 and about 500 pieces of brass, but I am sitting on 400 loaded rounds now. I also have 2 rifles and a Ruger Blackhawk chambered in the 41.
