You do realize he could have been shooting pistols his whole life?? Like he can shoot other people's handguns, or been gifted one by his parents, or any number of other scenarios

Since he is 22 and one can not legally purchase a pistol until 21 years of age that puts him with roughly 2 years of pistol shooting experience at best. Since many new shooters hit low with Glocks I’m curious as to which model and if he had taken any classes. To hit a target with roughly 80% accuracy at 40 yards is quite good for a newer pistol shooter.

Grandfather taught him.. When did he start shooting. .. anyone's guess ....Grandfather could have started him at 15 years old. Maybe younger.

Yes, it could be any of those models. But the 19 is very popular, and I wouldn't want to try 50 yard shots with a 43 LOL.

Just because he couldn't purchase one until last year doesn't mean he didn't have lots of experience shooting one.

He said he learned from his grandfather.

I learned to shoot from my grandfather too. Probably started with a .22 when I was 6 or 7. I had lots of experience despite the fact I couldn't buy anything myself until I turned 18.

I went and tried it today.

The Dixon Drill.
45 yards
On a timer random beep
not using a support

only hits counted were on body and one was on the line.
The one with the red dot surprised me. I thought that would have been better than open sights

Thats great you posted that. Im afraid of what my embarrassing performance would be but im willing to try. Wont be to the range for a a week or so though

I had no idea either that’s why I tried. I was surprised that I got off 10 shots in under 10 sec

His hit percentage is good on a static range punching paper. It's about as good as I have ever heard of with a pistol in a high stress situation on a 2 way range.

Speaking for myself, its not the time that would hamper me, its the hit percentage at that range. I know my capabilities and with that much at stake I personally would not have taken that shot.
Gotta get into another Accuracy and Accountability class with @OnSight Firearms Training and touch up those perishable skills

Taken that course at least 6 times. Will be taking it again very soon.
