I was out for a jog the other day and saw this up outside my local Tops. Seems fairly spot on to what many of us believe.
Damn, good eye.Transit and North French if my photographic memory serves.
From my understanding of what they have written is they are pro USA as the nazis were pro Germany. As bad a rap as the nazis have is being pro USA really a bad idea?I went to the website listed, its dripping in neo-nazi undertones
Edit: a quick google search links the founding idea to 1930's Germany and the idea of linking a racially defined blood with a united settlement area, hence the "blood and soil" name. This is true Nazi or neo-nazi shit, not the made up nazi label the liberals throw around willy nilly.
NO THANKS
Right on. I’m not into that Nazi shit either. Anyone’s fine by my books as long as they are reasonable. I agree with the fact that they should have a good foundation and uphold what the country was found on.America was founded as an idea that "all men are created equal" and independence and self determination are natural laws. Nothing wrong with being pro- American, I am just as much a patriot as anyone here. My problem comes from when you start defining who is and isnt American by racial lines. I dont care the color of ones skin, as long as he/she believes in the idea in which this great country was founded. Iv met plenty of immigrants who love America more than people born and raised here. Iv met black, mexican and some from the middle east with a great concept of freedom and liberty then a lot of white people.
And the problem is that we are increasingly becoming a "tow the party line" system.I get to meet a lot of new people and see the inside of their home in my line of work. Most gay men Iv met (I know that sounds bad but it what it is) have well kept homes usually in upper end neighborhoods and hold many conservative views. We’ve been so conditioned to think that because someone lives a certain lifestyle it means they will vote a certain way. We are all individuals and have our own opinions on things.
While I agree that during its creation America was an idea and I also agree that no matter ones race or beliefs they can be great people there is another question.
If you were to go to Mexico, Britain, China, Germany or Saudi Arabia and you learn their language embrace their beliefs do everything to act exactly as they do, will you ever become a Mexican, Brit, Chinese, German or Saudi or would you just be an American living in those countries?
A Mexican who chooses to legally live in America is just that a Mexican living in America same for an African or a Chinese person. They might even become American citizens but they are still Mexican/African/Chinese living in America.
Not in my book. While I agree that during its creation America was an idea and I also agree that no matter ones race or beliefs they can be great people there is another question.

I think you become an American on an individual basis. My old boss who’s going for his green card is way more American than the other French that have green cards or citizenship that I’ve met.So citizenship and nationality is just an idea and legal status?
And I never said I'm not welcoming to other people and cultures I just said they aren't American.
I don't understand why many claim the US to be more of an idea than a true nationality. Why are we the only country that is based on an idea and not the nationality of the people who conquered the land? The biggest difference is this land was conquered much more recently than any land anywhere else in the world.
Just looking at it from a point of view more similar to other nations and how their national identity is not just an idea.
I'm sure many Native Americans will disagree with me, however:Why are we the only country that is based on an idea and not the nationality of the people who conquered the land?
Is that so wrong? Other people can still come here and live here and be citizens but they are still nationals of wherever they hail from just as I would consider myself an American even if I lived in and supported Norway and was a citizen. Nationally I am not Norse, but legally I would be in that scenario. Why not use that same standard here?So does this boil down to the idea that you have to be white and of European descent to be a real American?
I had an uncle and a cousin move to Norway many years ago. They became citizens and gave up their status of being a citizens of the US. They, when you ask them, will tell you that they are Norwegian, not American.
BTW, I'm not really on board with the native American thing. Indians are no more American than I am. They were here longer, but the length of time means nothing. They came from somewhere else as well.
My wife's family has been here since the late 1500's, yeah, she is not more than I am.
Considering oneself this or that, I think is a state of mind. I know a couple of people that were born in Germany to US Soldiers and have been to the US. Both of these guys have lived their entire lives in Germany and still consider themselves full American.
