I think the cop is a dumbass. NC Is open carry for one. 2 you tell him to drop the gun and he’s carrying it, he goes to drop it and you kill him.

‘You told me to...’: Charlotte man appeared to be lowering gun when police shot himAs far as I can tell, the guy wasn't doing anything but talking to the driver. Both cops were all too eager to let lead fly. The only thing is, when the cops arrived , the guy should have stood and raised his hands. I think the gun was holstered. He probably would have been tackled and beaten by these two cops, but he might be alive. I have to wonder, what was the rest of the story ?
Apparently, in some cases nothing good can come from following them either.Maybe they were jumpy maybe they weren’t I was t there so I won’t comment on that. All I can say is nothing good can come from ignoring the police and their commands.
I’m thinking the same exact thing. I would be freaking out on what to do. I would just honestly sit there with my hands on my head.Apparently, in some cases nothing good can come from following them either.
He appeared to be trying to follow some very poorly thought out commands.
What would you do if ordered to drop your holstered weapon ? Would you reach for it to drop it, or ignore the order ?

You would tell someone to drop a holstered gun then shoot him when he slowly went to put it on the ground?100% justified. Saw it the other day.
This wasn’t an open carrier mistakenly shot by the police. He was threatening people in the restaurant, McDonald’s I believe. There were numerous 911 calls. He hid behind the car and refused to drop his gun then clearly made some sort of motion with it. 100% I’d have shot him exactly when this officer did.
Follow a command to grab and drop a holstered gun. Good luck and make sure your life insurance is up to date.Maybe they were jumpy maybe they weren’t I was t there so I won’t comment on that. All I can say is nothing good can come from ignoring the police and their commands.
Where is the sudden movement? He slowly went to drop the gun while holding it my it’s barrel. The shooting was justified. If you have a gun and the police have drawn on you and telling you to drop said gun and you make any sudden movement with it you’re asking to be shot. I don’t care if it holstered or in his jacket if you are not communicating to the police you are going to comply it’s not going to end well.

It was in pocket according to articles . Op said holstered and I didn’t check. How do you know it was holstered?Cant see it til he raises it from his side, and it appears he moved his left hand towards it before he was shot.
Certainly not, but I can't promise that I would never accidentally print in a McD's that also contains an anti gun nutbag that makes things up to a 911 operator. You most likely wouldn’t rush into a McDonald’s with a gun to settle a beef though, resulting in cops being called, putting yourself in the position of trying to figure out what to do like this idiot.
Oh this won't go well in court.Watch this video. Zoomed in, slowed down.
I'm sure I won't. I did not see anything else before this video or read about it. I just saw a guy asked to drop his weapon by cops multiple times, and finally when he complies slowly he is shot. You’re not a perp. Odds are very slim (basically nil) that you will ever find yourself in the position this idiot found himself in.
No they were called. Just like the cops that roughed up the permit holder in the drs office.Just because you don’t know any supporting facts does not make them irrelevant.
The cops didn’t stumble upon a man kneeling by his car while stopping for their meal break.
There’s a fact pattern from start to finish which supports the eventual outcome here.
