My wife wanted me with her for moral support.
I would not have been allowed in without a mask.
And if I pushed it, it would have created a scene.
So I made a couple of exceptions.

And she was already nervous about what the test results might show. It was not the time for my defiance.

How do they lock the unmasked people in the store?
Without locking in the masked people in too. Or do they get locked in too?
None of this sounds very American to me.

The small village that I use for getting some supplies the mask wearers vs non-mask wearers is around 50% - 50%
In the small city that I use to get the other supplies, it is around 80% masked 20% no mask.

The mask that I wore at the doctors is paper thin and fitted loosely on my face.
It's the blue ones that I see a lot of people wearing.
Yeah, like they do anything at all... Facepalm.

The only thing that they are good for is virtue signaling... And getting into the doctor's office... Double Facepalm.

There is no exemption. I have a legitimate medical concern for wearing a mask longer than a few minutes at a time and I have been told by several establishments that I am "not special" and that the rules still apply to me. Most recently Turning Stone would not let me attend my friend's wedding shower (which I told them I'd wear a mask for brief periods of time if within 6' of someone else) even with a medical exemption. That's right, even with a doctor's note saying I will literally require hospitalization if I wear a mask longer than 15 mins at a time, they still refused to let me in. The security officer told me he would be fine with me having to be hospitalized as long as I was wearing the mask. He said there are no exceptions for people with health conditions and that if I wasn't in perfect health, I "shouldn't be at the casino." Jokes on him, I've never gambled in my life.

I already consulted my doctor and the ADA and both of which have stated with the emergency guidelines, there is no such thing as an exemption. I could quite literally be forced to wear a mask for my "health" even though it's bad for my actual health.

The bar tender I encountered on Saturday made me walk back to the front door, put on my mask, and walk back into the bar area like I was 14 years old running through the hallway between classes. I told her I'm "exempt" and she said there's no such thing.

Later as we were getting ready to leave, I decided to make a joke about getting sued for discrimination because of my medical condition. She said she'd rather pay the law suit than lose the liquor license.

People are scared; just not of the virus. They're scared of all the oath-breakers "just following orders."

"Effective at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 17, 2020 any individual who is over age two and able to medically tolerate a face-covering shall be required to cover their nose and mouth with a mask or cloth face-covering when in a public place and unable to maintain, or when not maintaining, social distance."

You go argue with the security guard then. I know what the EO says. What is actually happening in practice is totally different.

I'm just telling you what he said and what numerous other establishments have told me.

People are way more scared of their business being shut down than a few lawsuits.

The controlled media has a lot of people living in fear.
The governments have businesses between a rock and a hard place.

Personally I am not scared of the virus... Why would I be, it has a 99.4% survival rate.
But I am concerned about how easily the sheep can be manipulated by politicians, bureaucrats, and the fake news.
That's the real problem with all of this...

Businesses are trying to dig themselves out of a fiscal hole now. When the government threatens to pull their license to operate of course they will comply, even with a mandate that is unenforceable at an individual level. Government has many ways of getting to their desired end point indirectly. See the thread about gun manufacturers getting sued from nuisance law changes for another example. Bottom line is that a private business can make and enforce any rule they want. Don't like it, then sue. If the political winds are with you, you may win. You would not win in this situation. Buy from Amazon, remember the stores that were over bearing, and don't shop there again if you have a choice. When this is all over go back and say you wanted to buy X, but because of their actions during the scamdemic you bought it from Amazon instead. Actions have consequences. Bonus points if you paid more from Amazon.

Disclaimer, I am long Amazon.

Why this has to be so complicated.
Businesses have the right to refuse service to anyone for many reasons. Once they ask politely anyone they do not want people there w/o a mask spreading germs (or any other behavior they consider not good) what re people going to do, fight? Move on and find another store who does not
care about the covid, mask or whatever the issue.
Employees are not there to enforce but to inform, the police or security is there to enforce when someone is asked to leave a private property or other reasons like shoplifters.
