There are protected classes of people under the current law (ADA). Just as you may not refuse service to a wheelchair bound person you may also not refuse service because of any other medical disability. This is also specifically mentioned as an upfront exemption under the EO, so at square one the mask is not required.

You fight that one with the lawyers after they ask you to leave in the middle of an epidemic.
Business who serve food have an obligation to do everything they can to protect the food and their customers.
It seems that people are avoiding on purpose even some courtesy precautiunary measures in lets say a bad flu season just because this COVID issue becoming a political one.
There is nothing to fight and no need to retain a lawyer. There is a place to report such illegal action directly with the Justice Department. A crime victim does not have the burden to pay for a lawyer. The government handles that.
You are correct - if they ask you to leave. Once again a news story doesn't seem very thorough. Did the manager ask them to leave before locking them in? We don't know. If they were asked to leave but didn't then they can be hit with trespassing charges. If the manager just walked over and locked the door without asking them to leave they can't be charged because they were not able to leave. I know if I was in that situation I wouldn't leave it alone until that manager was arrested for false imprisonment. If the local cops refused I'd go to the county then up to the state police until they were charged. The up side is that if you were locked in against your will you get a free pass to break windows/doors to enable your escape.
I wish the majority of the ADA were to disappear. Allow Businesses to conduct their business the way they wish.

The glass doors will not hold me. They will cease to exist. I will not beat the owner, but I will not stay under those conditions.
There is always a back door as well. There is the ability to call 911 and report an abduction. There are key words that can be used on a 911 call that will get a really fast response as well.

You don't need to shoot or attack anyone. Grab whatever you want and break through the door or window. I'll let the Leo's on here respond with what's legal but I would think that if you're being illegally detained and locked in a store you have the right to defend yourself and escape. If you have to go through the person that locked you in so be it.

Go home maybe, Get a coffee. Go to the hospital and get checked out in case something was wrong with me after the horrible kidnapping that I was just thrown into. Contact and attorney and then, I would contact the police and request an investigation gets started into the crime against me.

The only reason for a person not to have a mask aside from being careless is to have some sort of medical condition and that person
most likely should ask for help and stay at home in the middle of an epidemic. With the epidemic all sort of posibilites are there that were not there before in terms of getting the foods or items someone needs.
The State will have a heck of a time investigating every possible complaint of all businesses demanding a mask in their facilities and then associate that with some sort of discrimination when we are in the middle of an epidemic.
We are not talking about not allowing people wearing pink tutus but everyone trying to follow the very same guidelines people are following all over the planet to deal with the situation.
In some countries all the goverment has to do is to ask (like japan, Norway, Taiwan, etc...) in some others they have to enforce (France, Italy, etc..) and then everything in between, it all depends on how well informed and civil a society is. The size of the country too as continental countries are republics are obviously more diverse and complicated by their size and geo-political conditions.

The employees can lawfully refuse enforcement because that is most likely not in their job description and it is not also seen
as a civil duty in cause of "force majeure" like for example a bunch of employees taking initiatives to save lives during 9/11.
For that you have the security folks and the police upon a call and just follow up but do not get into fights.
How many people do you think are going to fight when politely asked to leave?

In the early days before covid hit the USA I was doing some shopping and saw a guy come into the fruit section at the supermarket.
He might have been a mechanic and had all the hands unwashed with grease or some other chit and took a bunch of grapes, put two or three in his mouth and put the rest back in the shelf. I was next to him, shook my head and said wtf man, that is food other person might get home
you should not do that. He looked at me like I was from another planet but made a gesture like sorry but wtf. I am not an employee, I am a customer calling out another customer, a pig in this case.
Let me tell you, you go anywhere civilized on the planet and you do not do something like that w/o being called out by everyone in the store, vendor, clients, everyone and that's the way it is.
If people behave like this in a market imagine how it is at home.
