He left so much on the table, he could have nailed her on so many things and he showed himself to be easily provoked, then he wasn't articulate.
It's a real shame. Even worse Hillary really didn't look ill, she never coughed or cackled so even that smug smile she resorted too and that "YoHoo" she practiced didn't hurt her so much.

Only good thing is that this was just the first one and Trump is a fast learner. The optimist in me wants to think he's playing rope-a-dope and letting her unleash all her attacks first so that he can eviscertate her later, which would be an awesome strategy if it's true.
Think about it, the only blows Hillary landed were over revealing his tax returns and minor, out-of-context past statements. He can let her continue to harangue him over petty stuff and then a week or two before the election he can reveal his tax returns and say, "So what?".

painful to watch. Trump just repeated himself and bragged the whole time, Hillary ran circles around him like it was the Ice-capades? What happened? We're so unbelievably lucky that the election isn't today.
Who cares who won the debate? Did it change your mind about voting for the candidate you were intending on voting for? I don't believe there are any undecideds in this country. A more likely scenario is there are a lot of I am not telling yous.

Couple points stood out to me. First, I didn't think her suit was that loud. In person, maybe, but great for TV. It looked like the lighting was better on her side, too. Trump was greyed out. As cliché as the red tie is, it would have been a better choice for him.
His 'me, me, I, I' drove me crazy, and where he could have really hammered her on policy, he ended up talking about his "beautiful" businesses. I think we all know he's rich, already. He needed to hit her hard, and not in the way he did. It seemed like he had no facts ready and available. I also hated how much he interrupted - particularly in the beginning. Complete turn-off.
Guns... oh, boy! Hillary, in a round-about way, said Black people shouldn't have guns. Showing her true colors, there. But Donald wasn't any better. Only semi-bright side of that mess was that he may have swayed some third-party person with support for no-fly, no buy. As disgusting as it is, I don't think it will hurt him too much with his supporters, since the main alternative is Hillary.
Overall, his inability to stay on track was hard to watch. He even has trouble completing a sentence before he rambles away. Ouch. As much as I hate to say it, Hillary didn't look ill, or even all that fatigued, imo. Wash, or slight edge to Hillary for this one.

I do believe that who won matters for the simple reason that many voting American don't bother with policy research- they just vote for the more likeable candidate. A sad state of things to be sure. I can't tell you how many obama voters I talk with who regretted voting for him. When i press them about why, they tell me that they don't like what he's doing to the country. I remind them that he was very clear about his intentions for the country when he was running and they give me a blank stare. Americans are SO susceptible to marketing, and that's what these debates are- the two political parties "selling" their candidates. Hillary came across as presidential and (god forbid!) likeable. Trump looked like a pompous ass. In such a tight election, that REALLY matters, especially with a lazy electorate.

Hmmm... Call me paranoid but i've been thinking that this whole rivalry thing between Hill and Trump is staged. Clinton attended his wedding. The two of them are on a first name basis. Ivanka and Chelsea are pretty tight, too. The two of them probably met up after the debate for beer and wings. That's why he didn't sink her.

I don't think he is working for her, he had to contribute when she was a Senator because that is how you get an audience. I am disappointed that he didn't knock her silly. Pay to Play - using her office as Secretary of State to expand the wealth of her crime family - sloppy email usage - ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Also disappointed on Trumps statements about stop and frisk and background checks.
Nevertheless: Ideology over celebrity. Bringing in 100,000 Muslims vs shutting off the flow. We were a country built on immigration. We don't have enough jobs now so we don't need no mo immigration.

Trump was on defense more, but that was the result of Holt asking only him those types of questions. Hillary got the total white glove treatment from Holt.

My opinion on missed opportunities by Trump:
1. Cyber Security
After Clinton finished her response about cyber security, Trump should have said: "Madam Secretary...YOU installed a personal, private, server at your home. YOU sent and received classified documents on that server. YOU have compromised national secrets. YOU, Madam Secretary, are a one-person national cyber security risk."
2. On Trump's Businesses
After Clinton finished speaking about Trump's businesses and his taxes, he should have said: "Well...Madam Secretary....I have created many jobs and I sign the front of paychecks instead of the backs. Based on my research, you have created at least three jobs since you, your husband, and your daughter all receive salaries from the reportedly charitable entity known as The Clinton Foundation."
3. When Clinton hit Trump about his comments about women
Trump should have responded: "Madam Secretary, really? Your Clinton Foundation has solicited donations from regimes that oppress women, will not let women drive, consider women to be property, and require four witnesses to prove that a rape occurred. You have enabled, and befriended, international leaders that treat women as slaves and you equate that with a few statements that I made in jest. Seriously, Madam Secretary? The American people know better."
4. On ISIS
When Clinton touted her plans to handle ISIS, Trump should have said: "Plans...Madam Secretary? You have plans? On your watch, America's victory in Iraq was squandered. On your watch ISIS came into existence and has grown. If we are seeing the result of your plans regarding ISIS, I have to question just who those plans really benefit? I guess that just proves that your experience is exactly the kind of experience that we need to put behind us as a nation. As President, I will utilize plans set forth by our nations warfighters and finish ISIS once and for all. I will make America safe again."
5. On his Taxes
When Holt insisted that Trump release his tax returns, he should have said: "No problem, Lester. I'll do that just as soon as Secretary Clinton explains how she and her husband set up a supposedly charitable foundation to which she donates, takes a tax deduction, and then a salary to boot. I'll release my documents just as soon as I get to see an audit of Secretary Clinton's foundation that Charity Navigator has given up on because they cannot even figure out whether the foundation is really a charity or a business entity."
