Here's the problem and why our country is totally screwed.
About half of the country COMPLETELY, morally, philosophically, logically and emotionally disagrees with what the leader and the other half thinks.
There.is.no.middle.ground.
There is no room for compromise.
Biden can decree whatever the hell he wants and our treasonous legislature and fundamentally transformed SCOTUS can all go along with it.
Yet, IT. WON'T. MATTER.
Because, the other 50% (us) of the country will willingly become "outlaws" because they feel their position is moral, just and absolute. It doesn't matter what the king says if less than half the country agrees. It's just taking us down the path for one hell of a reckoning.

This is the current 2A. What is it were to be altered to say something like this...

Would all here be okay with this alteration? As long as it was done legally? The exact way spelled out in the Constitution?

Well, the process lets you change what the amendments are.
It doesn't mean the existing amendments can be ignored.
When they outlawed Alcohol they amended the constitution to do it, because they acknowledged that it didn't grant them the power to do so otherwise.
When they started the "War on drugs" they decided it was easier to just ignore the constitution and outlaw them anyway.
See the difference ?
The fact that the amendments can be changed via a specific process doesn't mean you can just re-interpret them however you feel like outside that process by declaring they "aren't absolute".
The right (if they ever regain power) needs to abuse the absolute shit out of these precedents. They need to scare the hell out of the left until *they* are begging for the constitution to be followed again.
"Ok, we're going to double the size of SCOTUS, and boy are the new guys going to shake some stuff up".
"Well, we're going to outlaw the democrat party. I realize the constitution prohibits this, but none of it is absolute, right ?"
