This deserves my standard response to a nonsense statement, "Yeah, Right, Whatever."
If you cannot face being called to task on what you say or do, "just don't do it."
But anyway, range tomorrow after I spend some quality time at the loading bench.

Well, it looks like I have a good chance of scoring the M1 from my friend but probably Not it time for this challenge. Guess I'll just shoot the pistol challenge. My only iron sighted guns are 30-30 & .35 lever guns.
Why not try those?
Did the pistol and rifle challenge today. The wind was kicking today and well I suck at shooting iron sighted rifles off hand anyway, so no excuses.

I scored 137 on the rifle challenge, ( 84 on elbows off the bench, 53 standing offhand). AR15-A2 75 grain hornady HPBT, over 20.3 grains of IMR 3031 and a CCI primer in hornady cases.
The pistol I did much better on 35/3x, ( 20/3x at five yards, 15/ noX at 7 yards)
Kimber ultra carry II 45 ACP loaded with 200 LSWC over 5.3 grains of green dot and a CCI primer in mixed cases.

well i am not a good shooter with irons. i had a few things that i planned to do today that i took care of first but when i got down to it, i couldn;t keep all of my shots on paper at 100. I'm getting new sights for my 10/22 and will try again with that since my sks is now out of commision for at least another week or two.
I'm planning on using my 10/22 with tech-sights also, only have two rifles with open sights the other is a 1930's Savage model 19 NRA also a 22 rimfire.
so @Podmonkey I gave you an opening to whoop up on my score.
We will see. I will say right now, my pistol targets will suck. Torso hits at 10 yards is the best I can do with the Shield. But thats okay, its good training.

are those all just bolted tightly on? what are you shooting it with, id be worried about richocets and breaking the board if youre shooting anything large?
They are bolted to conveyer belt then bolted to the wood. They will be shot with center fire rifles.
The closest distance will be 100 yards and the farthest 400. Am not worried about ricochets or breaking the 2x4s.

ah, ok. couldnt tell what you used to hang them.
Conveyer belt is a lot better than chain. It will take hits without failing and it won't allow the target wrap over the board.
Where can I find some of that conveyor belt, cause chains do suck.
Yeah, that is a good idea! The range I go to is wanting to add a steel "tactical" range. Are the conveyor belts cheaper than chain?
I've gotten used conveyor belt from a sand and gravel pit in the past.

i actually have a bunch of these at my job. if we ever have to replace one i will see if i can grab it. how much does this stuff usually go for.

damn, i wish i lived somewhere that i can shoot steel on a regular basis. Dont have the room down here.
I shoot mild steel every weekend. The AR 500 is for competitions. My club has 6x6x1 diamonds at 100, 200 and 300 then we have a piece of 8x14x1 at 400. To be honest it isn't a challenge after a while unless the wind is blowing.
Old fire hoses would work too.
I will mention this to the Range owners next time I'm there.

Took the day off to get a couple of things done this morning then headed to the range. I brought a lever action rifle for the 100 yrd. Challenge only to find out that the rifle range was closed for cadet training.I did however get to do the pistol challenge. Not my best , but it will have to do since I don't know if I'll get back to the range before the month is up.

Just went to Staples and printed off thirty of the pistol targets............ And then realized I had forgot to order any 9mm! And since I had none beyond my defensive stash I had to go to Gander. Cheapest stuff was that red polymer coated American Eagle. Bought 500 rounds, that should be enough. Proly burn my last few boxes of standard pressure 124gr HSTs too.

not sure how you come up with 19/2x if you only shot 5 rounds your score would be 15/2x if you shot 6 your score would be 14/2x. Help me out here. Do you have 4 rounds in the red circle or just 3?

There are 4 rounds in the red circle. 2 touching the line 2 that aren't.
I honestly don't know why I shot the 6th round. Brain fart I guess. I didn't have time to do it over before the rain started so, it is what it is.

So your score for the raccoon target is 14/2x and the Viking target is 15/1x for a total of 29/3x.

Ok, I can be a little dense at times so just so I understand, how do you come up with 14 with 4 holes in the red?
