That's literally exactly what happened to Daniel Shaver.
That officer was charged and found not guilty in a jury trial. That destroys your argument that there is "immunity granted by a badge". He was prosecuted, just as anyone else would have been. You can't equate jury acquittals with someone not being charged. They are not the same thing.
Well let's see:

Police Sergeant Charles Langley then ordered Shaver, who was lying prone, to cross his legs. Moments later, he ordered Shaver to push himself "up to a kneeling position." Pretty much speaks for itself. He put himself in a bad situation and didn't follow instructions. He was even warned many times and told exactly what could happen if he didn't follow the instructions. This is basic stuff.
Oh don't get me wrong, I'm well aware that you are OK with comply or die policing. There is no argument there.
But let's not even pretend here. That cop, who even went so far as to get his pension after this, let's just say "would not have been given the same treatment" had he been a regular peon.
They didn't even press charges until nearly 2 months later.
That is an impossible question to answer. There are so many factors.
What we can do is apply the law in NY to it though. The law says you must have a reasonable belief that deadly force is about to be used against you. If you had documentation from witnesses that said person was armed, and they were making motions and movements that you reasonably believed was drawing a gun on you then yes, by letter of law, you are justified. Of course you wouldn't be in that exact situation because you're not a police officer, so again the question you asked cannot really be answered.

When you are at gunpoint follow instructions. Don't make threatening motions. Worry about the rest after.

In "the Wild Wild West", when crime was actually much lower, if someone came into your house to steal your shit you could use any means necessary to protect your life and property. Now you could be arrested and killed for far less and those that do it would NOT be chased out and burned at the stake like in "a lawless society." They'd get defended.

Like it or not with out police we are f**ked. The gangs and crazies would completely take over the streets. We wouldn't be able to buy groceries without paying them to get into the store. The only way that could possibly work is with constitutional carry and the libs aint letting that happen. Cali will learn that lesson in short order.

I’m tired of this “Cop Out” point. They took an Oath. If a law is unconstitutional, they are supposed to not enforce it. Do you think they would enforce a law that said that you do not have the right to print an article that puts a politician in a negative light?

Ok, you have a town that doesn't need cops. You really think That the whole world can be modeled after your town? Huge citys with diverse ethnic, social economic cultural back grounds ? On a small scale it might work. Like the American Indians with communism , large scale , it always fails . If you pulled the police out now those citys would look like a third world country in a week or 2 . Maybe not your town . but the citys cant survive .

If police were regulated to just report takers after crimes were committed, we would do just fine. We can defend our own homes, businesses, and selves. We can hire security to patrol our own towns if we cannot do it ourselves and if a crime is committed, we can hold for detainment until the police get there.

He wanted an example. In those towns, they have citizen patrols. When a crime is committed, they detain until a state police officer can fly up there to book the criminal. We can do the same in bigger towns. Cities even.
