I don't know rental laws in Massachusetts but my guess is that unless she signed a lease that says that no firearms are allowed (and my suspicion is that there was nothing to this effect in the lease otherwise the story would be that she's getting evicted and not being pressured to leave) there's nothing they can do to force her to move out until the lease is up. It will, on the other had, make for some really uncomfortable moments for the next several months with (what was it...six?) roommates who apparently hate your guts.
If I were her I'd still be looking to move to another place but also making sure that I got my security deposit and the balance of my lease back as well.

have dealt with landlords, slumlords, and tenants. Landlords have no rights and if there is a lease, it's like any other contract, you simply can't violate a written contract even though it goes against your beliefs. NY law is very clear on this matter (oddly enough) Once someone is in/on your property if they don't want to leave, it will take you months to get rid of them. Unless you have some magical plan or legal process, please school the class in this miraculous procedure

Id have to argue you can't sign away a constitutional right in a lease agreement, we arn't talking about a pet or smoking. Its the equivalent of saying you won't practice a religion or vote while staying in dwelling ... if pressed it wont hold up in court. Their is plenty of precedent with hotel rooms ect and the right to bear arms ... it would fail once it made it past local courts under strict scrutiny SCOUTS would laugh it out of the court.

Totally difference circumstances you are in a lease agreement that property becomes your home/domicile and rights are the strongest in the home. Your landlord has no right to restrict your constitutional rights ...

If you signed a contract with people agreeing to house them for a year, then no, you should not just be able to change your mind and kick them out after 6 months.

this is all pretty simple. It's all in the lease. If the lease states "No firearms" then the Landlord has every right to terminate the lease and have the individual removed from the property. However, a landlord must give a tenant a "reasonable amount of time", usually thirty days, to find new housing. A landlord can not simply toss a tenant to the curb
If there is no such language in the lease, the tenant has every right to have LEGALLY owned firearms in the property. NOW! The tenant has legal standing against her fellow tenants for invasion of privacy. Just because they all live in the same house, her space is her's alone.

In NY it will take about 6 months to evict someone for not paying rent I have multiple friends who own rental properties and have gone through this.
I have a account I service in the Bronx that the woman there hasn't been paying rent in over a year she also has managed to infest the building with roaches cause she's disgusting, in the past year she has destroyed 3 brand new stoves don't ask I don't know why .
If the tennants is paying thier rent and abiding by the rules of thier lease it may be difficult to just kick them out. The land lord may have a month to month due to renting to collage students. The lease could just be changed the next month.

They absolutely cannot. Ask any land lord who has had an unpaying tenant if they were able to kick them out. This is a person's home, there are many things a landlord lacks power to do.
