@freddy. Can you use this letter for that AR?
The reality is that a pump action shotgun isn't an assault weapon under the intent of the SAFE Act and the former 1994 AWB ban in any shape or form. What this guy wants to built absolutely is except for this definition gap. I still think it's technically legal, but they quite possibly would take action on the short stockless AR whereas they're not going to dwell on the shockwave.@freddy. You are probably right. That was my argument before that although legal, they can declare it a pistol with a grip anyway. The reality is that a pump action shotgun isn't an assault weapon under the intent of the SAFE Act and the former 1994 AWB ban in any shape or form. Thank you for posting this.So this was posted earlier today. An actual letter! It would imply that the police do follow the law, implying hope for something like what you guys have been talking about.

Can you give us an idea of what he says. If so i will be buying one of those very soon.It might help. Just sent to my atty. Thanks Will.
I definitely will. But so you know Franklin Armory is hesitant to ship to NYS. When asked why, they simply say they are concerned with PL 265 and refuse further explanation. Can you give us an idea of what he says. If so i will be buying one of those very soon.
Thank you sir.I definitely will.
Maybe this will change that.I definitely will. But so you know Franklin Armory is hesitant to ship to NYS. When asked why, they simply say they are concerned with PL 265 and refuse further explanation.
It can help but in the end, police can't officially interpret law.Maybe this will change that.
So i know this is long dead at this point but I brung up this thread because im considering building one of these now. You ever get a response from your attorney. Id like to hear whatever it was.I definitely will. But so you know Franklin Armory is hesitant to ship to NYS. My counsel believes that this could be won. But they cautioned regarding the risk vs return. So i know this is long dead at this point but I brung up this thread because im considering building one of these now. You ever get a response from your attorney. Id like to hear whatever it was.
Kinda what i figured. Thanks. My counsel believes that this could be won. But they cautioned regarding the risk vs return.
Well whether its semi or pump has nothing to do with it in this case. Why the police letter even points out the action in question is non-sequiturThe reality is that a pump action shotgun isn't an assault weapon under the intent of the SAFE Act and the former 1994 AWB ban in any shape or form. I think you should read this entire thread and then decide on your own if it's worth the risk. Whether it isn't labeled as a pistol by the company, it doesn't mean a NY law enforcement officer will not charge you as having a pistol with a forward grip installed. It resembles exactly to the letter what NY classifies as an Assault Weapon in a pistol configuration.Well Jerrys located in NY state is selling these so they must be legal?? yes no ?? Iam confused. Can I build my own?
Delta Level Defense 12" "Other" ARs
What if you made an AR15 style lower with a 410 shotgun upper, with a brace, a front vertical grip, and overall length of 26.5 inches. Can’t be a pistol because it is smooth bore, can’t be a rifle because it is smooth bore, and can’t be a shot gun because it was not made with a stock or designed to be shot from shoulder.
