I had never used a red dot and was interested in seeing how it would work on my S&W Victory. I Bought a $28 red dot from amazon and put it on. Now I can put 40 rounds in a 7x7 area even with my 70 year old shaky hands at 25 yards. I am pleased.

But holosun just dropped a bunch of new products and they are the ones who will truely bring the competition vs sub par (holosun rejects)

Irons with a trash optic ok ... Irons with a good optic, yes better.. Either good or bad optic if carrying there should be irons.
What I'm saying is if someone is going to spend their money and cant afford (especially with holosun being a choice) a quality optic then they should just get good iron sights.. otherwise they will just be spending money on broken shit and "red dots arent as reliable as irons"
Trash optic is never a valid option especially if it's going to be in a defensive handgun (range toys sure whatever order off wish it's still a waste of money but meh whatever)

After using a Holosun on my AR I'd trust one on my handgun any day. They make rugged shit that's been proven over and over.

No lie this looks like an MOS specifical dot I cant tell for sure, but if someone starts milling for these I may be doing this for my 17..

Once you learn how to shoot one the window size is a non issue, you arent using the window to aim you are looking at the target and then superimpose the dot onto said target

I recently mounted the Trijicon RMR to my Glock 17. Will be testing it tomorrow. Used a laser bore sighter to kinda sorta get it ready.

That looks way to busy. If I ever went that route, I would just used blacked out irons since those would be secondary and only used in an emergency anyway.

Agreed, buis should be blacked out, well ok that's a "preference" but like you said to busy, and they are Secondary and with how reliable these optics are becoming it's a rarity.

With proper presentation and two eye open shooting no the size of the window doesnt mean much.

That's no necessarily a deal breaker. Trijicon makes it work with their dual illuminated with their RM04.

Well I was about a week away from ordering a sig 229 legion rx. This thread has swayed me to a different direction. I'm not liking the reviews on the romeo1's durability. Can't have that when spending big bucks for a top tier handgun.
I don't shoot much and recently noticed with my aging eyes, I can no longer focus on the front sight. Time to try a dot. I have a holosub 510 on my ar and love it. I'll be sending my American Compact out to get slide milled, and install a 507c on it. Save myself a bunch of money at the same time.

Well I think you made the correct choice on not getting a romeo.
Hell the new romeo zero isnt even worth the money. And is so fragile and sig even recognizes that they made a whole separate product to try and protect it
I believe you can mount a Deltapoint pro on the SIG. Spend your money.
