I have had an RMR on my CZ 07 for a few months now and really like it. I would say I have well over 1K through it with the RMR on it and I am getting better/faster all the time, it really helps my 65-year-old eyes! I sent the slide-out to Primary Machine and had it back in a little less than a month and the works is 1st rate! Anyways still shootin still learnin but for "me" red dot sights on pistols are the way to go! I also have a Holosun that I have not mounted yet, I'm saving $$$ for another pistol! Also, Holosun just came out with a New optic, very similar to the new Aimpoint ACRO, it looks very nice!

I put an RMR on my P10 c. Had the work done by Jagerwerks. Having the same experience as you and from now on all new pistolas will have red dots.

Outstanding, its just such a natural progression I feel! I mean its helpfull for "me" because of my age and eyes but when you see multiple young guys running and gunning with red dot sights on there pistols its kinda a no brainer in my thoughts! I feel its just the next evolution in handguns, if it makes it better/faster/more accurate then why not! I have been thinking about a P10 for a while but just have not gone down that road (yet). My local Gun Guy is getting some in and a buddy bought one but I have not had the chance to handle/shoot it yet & maybe I shouldn't,LOL I have multiple 07s and other CZ hammer guns and it is my style of choice but I do have a token Glock 19X. LOL My next big decision is which gun am I going to put a red dot on next !

I'm thinking of picking up a Holosun to play with on my Glock 19. I don't have an MOS cut slide.
Has anyone used a dovetail mounting plate for a red dot sight? Something like this:
I find this plate with backup sights to be interesting. But...it is very expensive and the backup sights have an extremely short sight radius which makes them difficult to use accurately. And, I could probably get my slide milled for not much more than the cost of this plate.

The dovetail plate is fine if you want to try things out. Once you do you will find out you like it and wind up sending your slide out for milling. There are also a ton of pre-milled slides for Glocks. You could set up a dedicated slide for the dot and just swap back the original when you feel like irons.

I thought about that. A complete, inexpensive, slide will still be over $200.
It's only money. You will be looking at a lot more than $200 to do it right. Custom Glock Slide & Polymer 80 Kits
Basic slide is $400 plus internals and red dot.

It all depends on which Gen Glock you have, there are some good slides out there for Gen 3 at dam good prices! Newer Gens are more I believe If your a Forum hound like me you can always find guys selling slides/parts at fair prices. I have more guns without red dots than with but plan on doing at least 1 more maybe another depending on which gun I decide. Now I did look for and found the 2nd slide for my CZ-07 so yes it cost me more in the long run but it was a trial in case I didn't like it, well the RMR wins out hands down over irons, at least for me! I will keep iron-sighted guns but will always grab my RMR equipped gun 1st! For what it is worth I found a complete (newer than my original gun) CZ-07 slide for $260 shipped,,,& that's a good deal I thought! Ya can't go wrong with the Link above from Primary Machine but these guys have what looks like decent slides with cuts already for a decent price, just another option! Rockey Brass, Firearm Parts & Reloading Supplies I say send your slide-out to get it done and then decide if you don't like it then worry about getting another slide, but I bet you will enjoy it.
@Phazer weird option but you could mill the slide (I'd suggest RMR footprint and can even get a holosun) if you dont like it all you have to do is toss on a cover plate and just use it like before

That's always an option. I was just looking for the most economical way to try out a red dot on my gen 4 G19.
While the dueck defense is a decent option if you like it then you have to spend another 150 for a slid mill (it's the much better option) vs getting slide milled thennif you dont like it $20 cover plate
I dough out will not like it, so be carful. If you go cheap and like it, buying twice will get real expensive.
If unsure try to fine someone with a pistol with a dot and try theirs out. Your welcome to try mine its a G34.
@Phazer you would be welcome to try my P10 if you want. Your first impression may not be the best. A dot is a learning curve. At first you will have trouble finding the dot but if you train and stay with it your accuracy really improves. At least mine did.

That's why I'm leaning towards getting a Holosun 507c and the $20 dovetail plate. If I like the optic, I'll send out my slide for milling and get some high profile backup iron sights.
Send your slide to jagger or primary machine, amerigo blacked out irons, and do an RMR footprint (this will work with holosun) you can save a few bucks with the 407? But for like 40 more you can get the 507

I actually just bought a 507 today! The version 2's are coming, so they must be closing out the original 507. They can be had for less than the 407. I was thinking about the new 508t, but for $220 the 507 is a no brainer.
I just noticed a recall on the Ruger American pistol barrels, so my slide and barrel are off to Ruger for replacement, then when I get it back, it will be off to Galloway precision for milling.
