Incorrect. At 750 fps with a 3 inch barrel, it has poor barrier penetration. Your Super remedies that though.

In terms of listed energies the 357 SIG overlaps with the .45 Super and both outperform the .40 S&W.
Judging from the bullet weights and velocities the .45 Super likely has some kick to it in the recoil department.
Given your proclivities I would think you would be a big fan of the 7.5FK which only the hot loads of the .41 Mangum can best energywise.
The 7.5 has all that dirty velocity you like and probably with sectional densities that actually allow it to penetrate unlike super light for caliber 9mms and the like. Too bad it's a dead cartridge walking. You could put together a pretty effective PDW around the 7.5FK, seems like it could offer much of the armor penetration of the 5.7x28 and .46x30 while actually doing something to soft tissues. The problem with it is that a pistol setup to handle the 7.5 is going to half to be big, bulky and heavy which really hampers its practical application. No cop is going to want that hanging off the hip all day and certainly not soldiers.

Well for woods you want grain for soft tissue penetration. For street you want speed for hard barrier penetration. There is no one perfect do all caliber in a semi auto. The 10mm kind of comes the closest but it's a handful in a subcompact.

But in NY, that's a 9mm. We don't have grizzlies. A 9mm will take down any man and black bear.
Just because there is a story of one or two people being lucky enough to have stopped a bear with a 9mm doesnt make it a smart choice, especially when there ARE MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better options
