Amish are people the same as English: There are good, honest ones and there are shit-bags, there are those that'll take whatever they can, exploit the unsuspecting as though they're entitled, and others that would give whatever they had expecting nothing in return.
We are a society of germ-a-phobes (George Carland had something to say about that) so we shun a lot of what they believe to be completely acceptable, however not all that we abhor is without cause. The USDA and Inspection programs (Laws) came about as a result of the sub-human standards that Meat was being package a century ago, and having been through Meat Processing Plants myself, I'd say that at least some oversite is a good thing.
When TEOTWAWKI happens one two things will survive: cockroaches and the Amish.

That’s a ridiculous question because even beef and pork for personal use are not forced to be slaughtered at a USDA plant as stated in the original post. So no they should not be forced to be processed at a usda plant. All those animals are exempt from most regulations. USDA doesn’t even handle those animals.

Hers an update. Seems like Miller got screwed with his representation IMO. How can a lawyer from TX represent some one from PA? Seems like his lawyer didn’t want to deal with him likely because he doesn’t do email/texts and is too busy with other clients.

I think he thought by offering a membership he would be exempt from this rule, but that membership isn’t offering a stake in the farm it’s offering to sell customers products and it is likely still considered a meat sale to the public legally. Also interesting how he isn't claiming that this is violating his religious rights like the first video eluded to. That’s what I was stuck on in the first place, but that doesn’t seem to have come up.

I have drank Raw Milk once. I did not like it. If a person, a Free American, wants to buy a gallon or two from a farmer guy he knows, he should be able to do that.
If I pass a farm and they are selling their raised Beef, pork or chicken, I should be able to buy from him and he should be able to sell to me without the .gov getting involved. Funny how so many put faith and trust in the government to dictate what is safe and what is not safe to eat. Have you all seen the foods that they have approved?
I do not need the government to tell me what is safe and what is not. This is true in nearly all facets of life. Just leave us alone.

But.... I've had raw milk. Growing up, many of my friends families were farmers. Spent many weekends and summers working on dairy farms. Always a gallon glass jar in the fridge with fresh milk. Just stir it first.
When I drove a milk tanker picking up from farms, there was one in particular I would get a couple of glasses from while there. Always kept his milk at 34°. Delicious.
The problem with most commercial milk today is the homogenization. It breaks the natural fats (what they don't take for ice cream, butter, etc.) into indigestible particles. This is one reason why so many people have problems with drinking milk/eating milk products .
As many have said, if you want to drink it, you should be able to get it.
Same for meats. Know where you're getting it from.

Another month or so and we will have pasteurized, non homogenized milk in our farm store from a small Jersey herd about 20 mins from our place. All on the up and up with the gov. It’s taken them about 4 years to get everything sorted out between the gov and a milk coop that was ok with them not shipping all their milk to them.

Jersey's milk is usually higher in milk fat. They don't produce as much as other breeds but the fat content is higher. One farm I picked up from had them. Milk was almost a yellow color.

Picked up a load of fresh cow hides in Nebraska once. Took them to Laredo. -10 when I picked them up. 75 4 days later when I unloaded them. Took months to get the smell out of the trailer floor
