So depending on the county, if I decide to shoot. 38 Special out of a .357, I'd have to do an amendment? Same barrel....
I'm in Saratoga, like nortatoga, and like he said each caliber has to be amended separately. Here at least.
I recently built an AR pistol (see my thread in the handgun section). I went with a 9mm Glock dedicated lower and it has 'Multi Caliber' stamped on the lower itself. When I called the sheriffs office the lady said they haven't allowed multi caliber as an option for about 10 years now. If I want to go from 9mm to .40 I would have to fill out a new amendment form specifying that caliber.
This is just my county though. Yours may be different.

are any of you feeling infringed yet?
Does anyone know the requirement in Ulster County?
I'm going to say it. Just call the ppo in your county to be safe. Call from work or some one else's housenof your worries about them knowing who you are.
Then I would force the issue nicely with them and get documentation. If it's done wrong then it's on them. If the people at the ppo don't know we won't know. Good luck. This state is ridiculous.I was right in the PPO when I asked them and they were not 100% sure. They are great people but they really don't have all the facts.

I have the p320 , initially bought the full size 9mm. When I registered it, under caliber I put "9mm/40/357/45"
This was in westchester and it seems ok with them.
edit: i wanted to add that this was the advice of the people from the class i took to get licensed. I wouldnt have been smart enough to think of that!
That's an interesting idea... but technically aren't you saying you have a caliber when you don't? When the Secret Police decide to audit your 2A Permit and they ask for your .357 barrel that you don't have... what do you do?
