That is not where this will end.
So, ignore the lack of responsibility of the parents becasue something may occur? Seems logical.

Nope not ignoring. I know of no law holding someone responsible for someone else's actions. The fact that the pistol was stored in the parents room would lead me to believe it was in their possession. If someone takes someone else's possession without their permission, that is stealing.
I can call anything mine but if it is not in my possession it isn't mine. I own the statue of liberty. Do I own it? Do I possess it? What does the law of that state say what ownership is? I do not know I have not looked it up.THE GUN WAS THE SONS GUN!!!! He did not "steal" the gun, it was his. The gun was not locked up, the gun was less than twenty feet from Ethan's bedroom.

Wow. The Sig pistol was an early Christmas present. The parents said so, as did the kid. It was a bona fide gift, it was the sons gun. Period.
By this way of thinking, if you and I go the range and I let you shoot one of my guns, it is no longer mine? If I borrow your truck to move a new frezzer, the truck is no longer owned by you?
Well, if we could put @GOPerfect in charge of making that determination in every case then we'd be all good.Again, this case and this case only. the cues were there for the parents to see, he was on multiple different mental health pills.
I am able to look at one case and decide the merit of charges. If others cannot, that is theirs to deal with.
These school kids would not be dead today if not for the actions and negligence of the parents of Eathan.
The school urged the parents to take him out of school for a period of time and get him some assistance, help and counseling. They refused.
2 completely different scenarios. Hom stealing my car keys without my knowledge and me activitley handing them over are not one and the same. What if your drunk friend stole your car keys out of your kitchen drawer while you were sleeping ?
Are you responsible for not securing the keys then ?
This seems to be the most viable story st the time. He was clearly a disturbed kid, and Mom n Dad bought him a gun and gave him easy access. It reminds me of Dawn Nguyen who bought Willam Spenglers guns against her better judgment and he used them Christmas Eve 2012 in Webster.Wow. The Sig pistol was an early Christmas present. Pretty sure the parents didn't hand him the gun on his way to school.2 completely different scenarios. Hom stealing my car keys without my knowledge and me activitley handing them over are not one and the same.
Pretty sure the parents didn't hand him the gun on his way to school.
Pretty sure they would have stopped him taking it if they knew he was trying too.
There are bad choices, and then there's letting your kid take a gun to school. These are the same two parents that emptied their bank accounts the day after the shooting and ran and hid. This is the same father that has not paid child support to his other son in nine years. Same parents that have not paid car insurance in 11 months. Same parents that were in default of their mortgage.
Yeah, they made great and sound decisions. They would have stopped him for sure. They would have decided now was the time to make a good decision.

I doubt they were *that* bad.
I heard the DA is going after school officials with the same charges as Mom and Pop. C'mon big media, get that posse going, hang em all and let God sort em out!

Please, we all know it was the guns fault."Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald, who is overseeing the criminal case against the student accused in the Nov. 30 shooting and who took the rare step of charging his parents, has left open the possibility that school officials may also face charges.
Three hours before Ethan Crumbley allegedly opened fire, killing four fellow students and wounding six others and a teacher, the 15-year-old was sent back to class after a meeting between school counselors and his parents over a drawing a teacher found on his desk that included a bullet and the words “blood everywhere.” "
