I read that he ran over to the police lines but they told him to go away, thats when the pursuit started. Unverified at this point.
Maybe not.... Details keep coming. Doesn’t seem like he was up to no good to me....Hearing chatter he was 17, and crossed state lines. Possible he could not legally carry that gun in the first place. Crossing state lines to participate in this could be a federal enhancement. Hard to deny motive when traveling there with a gun.
My concern is how is he going to justify defending a building that had already been burned out the night before? We don’t know the laws there and what is justified. It sure wouldn’t be justified here. Looks like he shot the guy in the parking lot. That’s not going to fly unless you can show a deadly threat. Not sure if a 17 year old can possess a gun there anyway. In this video you see him allegedly call the cops to report he has just shot somebody. He is in the green shirt with the rifle.

My question was based on the one tape, not all the unverified minutia.

Well it looks like the first guy he shot threw something that was on fire at him.Its all one incident from different angles. if you only view the video where he shot the men in the street its a clean cut case of self defense.
Yeah I would say I probably would have been slightly upset with the asshole who threw a MC at me.Somebody chasing him with a Molotov.
You forgot something not well known about GoPerfect...he's big on hugs.I've met @GOPerfect (he's also smart, reads a lot too, he hooked me up with a book series) I would not mess with him. I'm not a huge guy by any means I'm rather ordinary and average. But definitely would not pick a fight with him. Glad he's on our team.
And unless he had done some to legitimately coax that respond, a molotov is clearly a deadly weapon, so running away is something he tried. If he had to shoot, then it was justified from the getgo.Somebody chasing him with a Molotov.
Unless first degree has a different definition there than here, uh, no.Kyle Rittenhouse, 17, was arrested today on first-degree murder charges after he shot three protesters — two of whom have died — in Kenosha, WI., on Tuesday night, The New York Times and USA Today reported.
I dont think he bought that AR legally.
I didnt write it.Unless first degree has a different definition there than here, uh, no.
I know My uh no was in response to these charges. Seem a bit "hasty".I didnt write it.
Commander Norman Johnson of the Antioch Police Department said the suspect — a young man whose name was not released because he is under 18
Um.Kyle Rittenhouse, of Antioch, Illinois, was taken into custody

Thereafter, his attempt to continue to flee was stymied by the same crowd that originally attacked with deadly force and he was again justified in shooting, particularly since one person chasing him (arm-hole guy) was armed. And he was hit with a skateboard.
Whether the gun was legal or not is another matter. This is all predicated on the first shooting. If it was justified, then the next two were as well. As for the guy with his hands up watch the video. This all takes place in the dark in less than a second as he spins around before shooting arm-hole guy.
The video of first shoot absolutely sucks ass. Maybe another one will come out, but the entire thing seems to hinge on that IMO.""And unless he had done some to legitimately coax that respond, a molotov is clearly a deadly weapon, so running away is something he tried. That is not clear yet, running away from a crowd throwing Molotov's is obviously self defense. If the man who was killed was running at him , than I say yes your correct. He's fleeing an angry mob . Im just not sure what took place that caused him to shoot the first man. From the video it looks like the man was running perpendicular to his position not at him. Im just saying I dont know for sure what caused him to shoot the first man . theres no other video yet.
If the first shooting is justified the the rest were as well like you said. If it was not, then the others were not either.

If the man he shot was part of the group trying to hurt/kill him and he was cutting off the escape route the kid may well Have been justified. Lets hope so. 17 years old is awful young to start a lifetime behind bars.I dont believe that was the man he shot . WHat it does look like is that he was being encircled from different angles . But the man he shot seemed to be running across his field of fire not directly at him . But who knows? Hopefully he will get off or the charges dropped .
I do want to ask why the hell anybody would try to chase down a person who has an AR15.If the man he shot was part of the group trying to hurt/kill him and he was cutting off the escape route the kid may well Have been justified. Mobs rarely make sense, they tend to get more dangerous and dumber the bigger they get.I do want to ask why the hell anybody would try to chase down a person who has an AR15.
I've noticed in general some lack a sense of self preservation. They act in very strange ways, oblivious to what could very likely happen to them. Just because you outnumber the guy with the rifle doesn't mean he can't kill you.
The fact that in both shooting videos he is running away from people (the guy with the red shirt was extremely aggressive in a prior video from last night, so we can safely assume he wasn't being chased by the 17 year old) may help him in court.
We don’t know why he was there. It could be they were trying to defend what was left of a relative‘s business. In that case it was down his street. I have injected myself into a situation 40 miles away to defend my sister-in-law from a crazed Ex-boyfriend just released from jail. My being there was a preventative measure. His being there may well have been the same. I don’t know why he was there, but the reason for being there may be as innocent as defending the family business. This thread is a good example of why you stay away from powder keg gatherings. This kid traveled 40ish minutes to be there. Justified shooting or not, it's poor judgement to inject yourself into that willingly. If people come down your street and brink the ruckus with them that's one thing, seeking it out is just not that smart.
