If only good people were allowed to be armed someone could have stopped this lunatic before he caused so much carnage. This is a perfect example of why law abiding citizens should be allowed to carry in New York City and specifically on the subway. This helps prove the point that was brought up in the Supreme Court case that we are awaiting a ruling on.

I'm all for carry conceal and I do carry when outside of the tri-state area.

In this event I feel that CCW would have made an already hectic situation FAR worse. It wasn't even a viable situation to draw with the amount of innocents and smoke.

To draw and shoot in this specific situation would be irresponsible. If the majority of people were on the deck and there was only smoke, then perhaps.

Maybe 4th is still Hispanic, 5th you already see Chinese businesses more towards 50's streets on 6th and 7th.

Yep. Makes me think of the Colorado theater shooting. Dark, smokey, chaotic... horrible situation for innocents all around.

Youre making assumptions that nothing could have been done to stop this guy. It might not have been feasible to use a gun defensively in this situation, the last thing any law abiding gun owner wants is collateral damage. Just because you carry a gun for self defense doesnt mean you need or have to use it in certain scenarios. But I sure as shit would rather have the option to go to gun if need be than to be left without the option.

Youre making the lefts argument for them, the old "wild west" type of reference.

How am I making the argument for the left? I'm simply stating my opinions based on footage available and my perceptions of the scene.

Would I like to be able to carry in NYC, most definitely yes. Would I have used it in this situation seeing a traincar packed with people and tons of smoke with very little visibility? Absolutely not.

This was not a run of the mill dirt bag banger who did this. This was planned and orchestrated. The traincars during rush hour are packed nut to butt and someone dropping a smoke grenade or smoke device can easily go missed. The major flag should have been the gas mask but average civilians may not pay any mind to that.

I've worked over 20 years as a NYC Paramedic in the 911 system and have seen EDPs wearing more outlandish shit than a gas mask when responding to subway assignments.

Without being there we cant say for sure either way. Ive worked in the subway system for over 20 years and I know it well too. Ill agree a crowded train car is not the ideal place to open fire if it can be avoided, but if someone is shooting at you and its either take a bullet or return fire what would you do?

The left loves to argue that crowded places should not allow ccw because of what you are describing, that is THEIR argument. Im not calling you a leftist, just want you to think about all aspects of this in case you arent looking at it the samw way I am.
