After the photos I took that belt off and put my military belt on. The one bad thing is the military belt is 1cm too long for the height and the holster doesn’t clip around it

Low profile stock sights.Havent used sights in about 30 yrs,on a carry weapon at least.Sights are for target shooting, not defensive situations.When I requalled for work I would kind of squint at them for the 15yd part of the course,I squinted because I need reading glasses and couldnt see the sights without them, anything closer was always point and shoot.When we transitioned to the Glock it was recommended to get the Tricons or whatever those light up sights were called at the time.I didnt and the instructors were adamant about me trying them to see how much better they are.I explained that I hadnt used sights probably since my first round of requal many years ago,using them would just be a distraction.Never shot less than 100%.I figure if someone is far enough away that I have time to line up sights, I have time to get the fuck out of there.

For what it's worth you're learning to carry at the easiest time of year when it's normal wearing a jacket. A little more thought goes into it during hot weather when you're just wearing a t-shirt
But by that point you'll already be carrying and comfortable doing it. You'll desensitize yourself from being paranoid in a few weeks of incident free carry where your worst case fears don't materialize and you just go about your day to day business in mundane boredom and lack of excitement or stress.
It will become "no big deal" much faster than you think.

I specifically bought my first pistol (a single stack subcompact) just to be able to make sure I can carry and not print. Once I got used to it I realized I way over thought it. Now I'm sitting here carrying a full size double stack. Looking back I way over thought it and should have just gone to start with a "do all" G19 size pistol

You have no idea exactly what situation you’ll find yourself in. So in your mind you’re totally ok with removing all irons from your carry guns because you have automatically assumed that you’ll only ever need to use your gun from a predetermined specified distance and closer…that’s it. Not even taking any other factors into consideration like mentioning size of target, angle of target, is it a low percentage shot, what are the current actions of the target. I have no idea what you did for work but if you only qualified out to 15yd, that’s a joke, especially if you’re squinting. I know for damn sure if my life is on the line I’m not going to pick the shooter that doesn’t have any irons, optics, sights whatsoever on his gun and is squinting from the 15yd line. Also to go on and say you have only ever shot 100% is pretty ridiculous too. The best shooters in the world don’t shoot 100’s every single time. So it’s either you’re not pushing yourself to become better and you’re just stagnant with your level of shooting or your qualification standards were/are easy as shit.

No, not everything that I don’t agree with is “Fudd”…you saying you hope my battery doesn’t die on my arguably better choice of aiming device being an optic over irons is “Fudd’ish”. That battery dying argument is exactly what a Fudd argument is. It’s usually from someone who hasn’t transitioned to the modern era to see the benefits of the future and are stuck in their old ways of thinking. Do you not put any red dots, holographic, or other powered optics on your rifles because the battery might die?! Alsoooo…you can still have irons to use through the optic God forbid the optic does go down. Look at how the entire firearm community has shifted and how companies have geared towards having optics on their pistols. A little bit of training and familiarity with an optic on a pistol and shooters are almost always more accurate shooters. It’s much less for the brain to process. No longer playing the game of align the front sight between the rear sight, get equal height and equal light, now target focus, irons go blurry….blah blah blah. Not saying that shooting with irons only shouldn’t be known how to do but as long as anyone is a competent shooter and give them an optic, I’d put money down they’ll be more accurate and faster. Superimpose the reticle on your target and your done, that’s it. No other thinking required. You happen to get a less than ideal draw and you have the reticle shifted in the top of the window, to the left, right, bottom, it doesn’t matter because of the minimum to zero parallax. You can still see where that bullet is going to impact. Anyone in the world that is allowed to have whatever gear they want and kill people for a living, run optics and sights…they’re guns aren’t specifically for target shooting like you called them in your first statement of “Sights are for target shooting, not defensive situations.” I’m sure Chuck Pressburg the originator of the Roland Special would disagree with you, on top of probably any and every other high level shooter who knows the benefits of what having an optic does. The argument people make of them not liking optics on pistols but never say the same thing for rifles makes absolutely no sense. The benefits of an optic on a pistol are the exact same as they are on a rifle. So why wouldn’t you want to have those same advantages if you could? The standard qualification is easy as shit, you have to suck pretty bad to fail. But my qualification requires shooting further than 15yd. I also make sure to push myself to where I’m not shooting 100% so I can see where I need improvement and become a better shooter.

Had a red dot on my hunting pistol, battery died, I went back to iron sights.Whatever sight you have is admittadly a better "aiming" device.As I said, in a defensive situation I dont use them,I dont "aim", I point and shoot,I guess thats a slower reaction than looking thru the sight, but what can we expect I'm a Fudd, why bulk up something I want to conceal, so for me its not an advantage

Haha, you really need to do some more training my guy. There is no shooter out there who’s worth a shit who hasn’t pushed himself to the failure point to see where their deficiencies are and then work on them to become better. You know, a lot like going to the gym. If you walk in on day one and never start lifting heavier weight or doing more reps, you’ll stay in the exact same shape as were when you start on day one…no better, nor worse. As for your red dot dying, I would also probably bet that it wasn’t a very high quality one, or you had the battery in it forever and it died when you should have changed it out to begin with which both reasons are user error for choosing a poor quality optic and/or not maintaining it. Red dots are absolutely a great viable option for defensive shooting. That’s why there are so many instructors out there teaching courses specific to pistol mounted red dots, in fact there’s one off the top of my head who’s on this forum who I won’t tag because I’m sure he doesn’t want to be dragged into the debate. Then you got Scott Jedlinski, J.J. Racaza, Brain Hill of The Complete Combatant, Yousef Sansour from Esoteric, the list goes on and on. It’s not some mystical secret or sage advice, some people just down like to evolve and change with the times. I would also bet that the majority of those 30yrs were done much before the current modern advancement in accessories or options that can be chosen now. So since not even really 10yrs ago people were really running optics on their pistols…doesn’t really matter. You also didn’t seem to have a rebuttal regarding optics being ok on rifles but not pistols. Do you believe battery powered optics are ok to be on rifles or no?

I change the batteries in any and all optics ever January, needed or not. The small cost is nothing to ensure they're GTG.

Im not an appendix carrier, so I can't add much for advise D. But the first few times I carried in public was late fall, so it was pants and hoodie weather. I felt like the bulge was jumping off my waist and slapping everyone in the forehead. The reality... people are so unaware of their surroundings when out and about.. the only ones who MIGHT notice.. are your fellow CCWs. The nervousness will fade over time.
I actually had an encounter a few weeks back in a restaurant bathroom. Washed hands and was at the dryer when a guy at the sink goes " hey bro, might wanna cover thst carry.." with a little nod. Looked down to see my shirt was right up over top of my CCW at the 4:00 spot.
