I agree completely. Mine gets from a distributor who has their markup so the LGS has to make their money as well. As much as I would like to go there for everything I just can't. This purchase alone would have been `$250 more!

Now we’re talkin some heat right there brother. Love the unfluted look on those snubby S&W’s ! If you roll yer own you can customize a load that won’t beat the crap out of you and will still get the job done.Traded in a couple of older safe queens today. I was originally going to sell them outright, and then I saw a pristine, like new S&W Performance Center Model 629-6 .44mag with a 2.625" barrel for sale. I negotiated a bit and got it for $760.00, vs new and on sale for around $950.00.
It's been on my list for a while...along with a Hogue grip for it.

Another one flying the chicken coop of landYes but they are opening a new factory down south somewhere. I read about it in another thread here.
Awesome, congrats!!Just picked this up today. Got it for a steal online. My LGS said they couldn't even come close to what I paid.
Awesome, congrats!!
I really have only one or two other handguns on my list to purchase someday to fill some caliber holes in my collection, -and one or two rifles as well. One of those will likely be the Ruger 9mm takedown carbine, and the other may be a Mini14. Re handguns, I'm interested in the following ones: a Randall stainless LH 1911; an NAA .380, or maybe a Kimber stainless .380, and if money were not an issue, an Ithaca or Remington WWII vintage 1911 in memory of my dad and what he carried back then.Congrats on your new acquisition, I have a Smith 629 on my list.
The way things are today I buy when the price is decent, if I see a deal I buy. Money is to hard to keep these days and I spend lot on my gun hobby. So $50 here and a $100 there adds up to a new gun or a bunch of reloading stuff..
With that much flash that gun will produce if you shot threw your jacket pocket I think it would catch your coat on fire.
Have fun with your new toy.
