I just watched some video on their FB page and it doesn't need the plastic lip piece to function and will work for any ar-15 with a standard dust cover. The loading time is quite fast and they're using it on full auto function for demonstration. This thing seems to be priced right and I think I'll get a couple for sure when it's available. I think we have a winner here to be honest!

I'd use that with the armaglock just in case of a malfunction I can drop the mag. But would be useful to help with reloading without having to open the upper. I'm in for one. Oh and FUAC almost forgot

Now instead of magazines, you have to carry these proprietary stripper clips that aren't proven and you need practice for it to become second nature.
Should you get a feeding malfunction when loading causing the bolt to slam forward, now you have a malfunction with a magazine that's fixed.
I still prefer to use the Thordsen with a standard magazine release. With this method on a fixed magazine, you are introducing another factor for malfunctions by reinventing the wheel.

Now thatbis a good solution! Pair it up with any of this products that allow you rapidly access then interior of the gun for fast stoppage remediation and I think you have a winner there.
@Willjr75, I don't see any net loss for needing to carry these loaders vs mags, they seem to be of equivalent weight and size. You're other points are quite valid, but given a successful shake down period, and a sufficient stock of the loaders, I think I'd prefer this to a featureless rifle.

Granted in a SHTF situation the mag lock would be gone in a heartbeat. But for range use and even training I think using this mag loader and a fixed mag with a removable floor plate could be the best available option behind the iron curtain of New York.

I'm somewhat confused though. The info under the video mentions a "CA" kit which includes the loader, feed ramp and mag lock. The website however, doesn't refer to it any "CA" kit and doesn't mention what is included with the loader for $39.99.

I prefer having a detachable mag with a compliant stock. Having a fixed mag on a semi auto, in my opinion, just doesn't go together. But I would be interested in building a fixed mag and trying this device out. I am picking up a few lowers form Bullet Guy this weekend and one of those lowers is being build for hunting. This will be perfect for that if I go fixed mag and full featured. I'll be in for one when they are available.

But do features trump function? When I did have an adjustable stock, I set it on a position and forgot it. That is the question. Anyone could add an adjustable stock later with the removal of one screw.
But I don't think you lose any function here, except maybe for remedial action which is very important. I would very much like to hear how those of us here that have ordered them do with it. There are several products out there now that allow rapid access to the interior of the AR so between one of those and this item I really think we have something here. It does eliminate the need to drop the bolt after recharging the rifle. Very Garand like....
