There is a difference between sound techniques and fads is my point. I think thumb over bore will become the norm in initial training once the equipment is fielded that allows it.
I learned about that low ready style in a training video for shotguns. The rational being that with the muzzle held low if someone grabs hold of the muzzle all you do is back up and now its pointed right at him.
But things always come full circle. Look at WWI and WWII rifles, what did you mostly see for the infantry rifles? Full length hanguards that surrounded the entire barrel almost up right to the muzzle. Some were even free floated.
That is true. It took the Marines a while to conform due to old generals that make decisions. They went to optics after the Army proved them superior to iron sights but held off for a while. Then the A2 stock remained for a long time because some General didn't want to lose "butt stroke" ability and the messing up of close order ceremonial drill with a collapsible stock.

Thumb over bore, not muzzle. You place your thumb on the top of the picatinny rail above the barrel. It feels very natural and gives you good control for quick transitions, helps prevent over travel of the muzzle. Your arm length is irrelevant as you just place your hand wherever is comfortable for you. On my rifles I grip just a little beyond the mid point of the guard. I use Magpul's Mlok handstop kit and rail covers for a secure, slip free hold and it also serves as a reference point that gets me on the rifle the same way everytime and very quickly.

I find you get better muzzle control when rapidly switching from target to target at close range too. But I agree. Some guys exaggerate it way too much.

Well, you are supposed to shoot a red dot, or even a 1-X low power variable with both eyes open. I am in the habit of shutting my left eye as I perceive that it gives me better precision and because I have a vision defect in my left eye that can be distracting when I shoot both eyes open.i know .. just being a ass lol .. just saying .. when i was young learned to to shoot both eyes open .. ... peep sights , scope .. it was just natural to me
CMP shoot and hold off hand was really weird at first .. but i like it and now it works for me ..

The muzzle device can come off and the threads welded/soldered up. I could either fix the mag or put a Thordsen stock on it and run 10 round magazines. If I wanted, which I do not.barrel shit on the AR bad in libtard FUAC land ,, ok for Mosin

My grandpa does not own a .30-06. I do. Bought it with my money, my choosing. He doesn’t like 3006. Mini thirty is better because 556 sucks ass and 762x39 is much more superior. My grandpa has a 556 and he likes it. Sooo and I do like right angled grips and verticals grips. I had a vertical grip given to me before safe act came out and we put it on his AK before he sold it. I don’t like the grips that make you go to the front of the barrel because it’s a dumbass concept. My grandpa doesn’t use grips so... and I don’t let my grandpa make up my mind on what I like, thanks.
Yeah the guys who think they’re tactical and post their videos on Instagram are the ones who use those goofy ass grips at the end of the barrel.
