The only place that needs to revisit their constitution is NY and I hope it isn't while it's under Democrat control.
The reason for never being able to have a True and Honest Constitutional convention is because of the extremes on both sides.

Given the history, I would not want another convention. As a student of history I would say it is not out of the question. In fact in 5 years my guess is the idea will become very popular on the left.
The reason I do not believe one will ever happen, too many far reaching ideas of the future from both sides. Once called, very little can be done to stop some of the madness. Both sides would be too damn afraid of what the other side will get passed.
That is where I disagree with you my friend. Do you honestly believe the left is afraid of the right? The left, the true hardcore left controls the law schools, most urban DAs, the judiciary and the press. They control the culture. How does cnn get lower ratings than reruns of old sitcoms yet they still get all the attention? Even fox news references them constantly. Why? Their ratings are lower than whale shit. But they punch above their weight because they set the narrative.
Trump is facing dire legal action in 4 jurisdictions (NY, DC, Michigan, Atlanta) precisely because the left knows they can get away with blatantly political actions without consequences. After all, the mainstream press is on their side.
As soon as the democrats can control 26-30 states via state legislatures there will be calls for a constitutional convention. You can bet the first things to be discussed are those pesky first two amendments. They will be "revised" if not repealed. All in the name of citizen safety of course.
I hope I am correct and that you are not. I cannot disagree with your line of thinking. They need more than 26-30 states though.
Once 20 million illegals are eligible to vote and/or become citizens by stroke of a pen it will happen.

I don't think this is ever likely to happen until or unless one end of the political spectrum gains outsize control of the process. Too much to risk for anything less. A lot of the people who call for a convention don't understand that everything is on the table were one to happen. Hard to imagine any scenario where we the people would come out of it better than we went in.

It would go: convention, abortion, civil war.
We can go in order. First thing I would alter and change is the Second Amendment. I would make to wording so simple that a blind, retarded Monkey could understand the words used. There would be no commas, no semicolons. Just a simple and basic Right.
The 4th, I would remove the word "unreasonable", make it simpler.
The 5th, I would remove the following... "nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."
The 6th, Speedy trial. I would set an actual time limit.
The 8th, I would get rid of it all together.
The 14th Amendment would disappear like a fart in the freaking wind.
The 15th Amendment, no longer needed.
The 16th Amendment would also be erased.
I would add an Amendment for term limits for those serving in the Federal government. A total of Ten years in elected service is all any American can hold. In the Amendment, there would be a pay structure that could not be altered. There would be no retirement money for those in Federal service.
The word “person,” as used in the Fifth and 14th Articles of Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, applies to all human beings, including unborn human beings, from the moment of conception, at every stage of biological development.
Nothing in this Constitution shall be construed as conferring or protecting a right to abortion.
Another Amendment, No State, city, or town shall have the ability to restrict the movement of the people.
I would end Supreme Court Justice lifetime tenure as well as all Federal Judges.
I would add a Balanced Budget Amendment. No matter what, no additional money could be spent.
A new amendment barring all tax payer dollars from going to foreign nations except for humanitarian aid for a serious disaster.
There may be more, this is a good start.

Just keep in mind that in a Constitutional Convention, ANYTHING, and I do mean anything CAN happen: even the promise of something small or focused might or might nor happen, and ALL the other Amendments; yea, they can be discarded, rewritten, modified, or left alone completely.
The whole purpose of the Bill of Rights was to grab the Reigns of a Federal Government that was already starting to run out of control.
Should we reach the point of the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence again, we'd damn well better have highly intelligent, Liberty minded folks in the wings, else we're doomed to Third World Shit-hole status....to the victors go the spoils AND the History written in the Books.

Maybe even propose an entire new section, The Bill of NOT Rights, just to clarify that Healthcare, Welfare, etc, are not the responsibility of the federal government.
And the left would counter with a "Universal" BOR, and include all the free and green shit.

That is exactly why we need an article V Convention of States for proposing amendments. This would constitutionally circumvent any dependence on congress in the process (except as the entity that merely schedules the convention).

The brilliance of an article V convention is that it is a constitutional method to amended the constitution. Such a convention would require a majority floor vote to pass propositions and then 3/4 of the states would have to ratify any proposed amendments.
I believe that balanced budget and term limit amendments could get to the states for ratification.
