Does it matter who does? Uncharted.... Correct but I don't see the why that was brought up.

They will probably give you extensions, more letters, ect.... But in the end you can't say that they will do nothing and let you go about your business when you ignore them all.

I buy a gun put it on my permit. I later put the gun on my wife's permit.
Which person checks the box.
A) The wife lists the gun and checks the box. Husband does not.
B) Both check the box?

Sorry, it is a legitimate question.
Think about it. My guns are co-registered with my spouse. There has to be a registrant and a co-registrant.

The wife filled out her recertification online. All of my pistols are co-registered with her in case something were to happen to me.
She checked "co-registered" for each of them.
i will do the same when/if I recertify.
The instructions did not state anything about if only one person is supposed to, and I did not read anything that implied the first person to do so is the defalt "owner" of the pistol, so they can sort out their own mess.

Co-registration will only matter if one person in the household were to lose their permit. By being co-registered, I believe they will NOT be able to come in and steal everything.

My Father and I have our pistols co owned on our permits and we both plan to file that way with Andys storm troopers for the same reason you have.

According to the FAQs you do not have to do anything but follow your country’s instructions for amendments. That’s why we all have a duty to buy ourselves something nice for Christmas to screw up their process.

Yep...after the initial registration ,it's business as usual. BUT, they don't say if a reminder is sent in 5 years to re-certify. Some can/may fall through

NO! Persons don't get it...
This whole exercise is for the NYSP to get their database up-to-date (which they should have in the 1st place being that each NY handgun transaction is reported to them via the P-12 form).
Once you re-certify, you're done. It is then up to the state to keep up with the piece of crap / shitty ass form of P-12 they have FFL's submit to them for EVERY handgun transaction.

I really hope this whole recert becomes a huge train wreck for the state and they decide to drop it. Mostly because I feel like the permit should be for life like it always has been. I've only had my permit for a little over a year, so I'm watching intently to see how this all goes. To be clear, I don't think we should need any permit at all.

Well based on your statement it will 100% happen. So please give us the proof

IMO the renewal will coming with a very high fee. Maybe something like $175 per pistol and proof of insurance. Don’t need to be a undersheriff to see that NYS Dems. will take the opportunity to fuck with the LAGOs anyway they can.

I would not be at all surprised at a recert/renewal fee. The state is greedy and already $63B in debt. I suspect in five years we will close to $70B in debt if Cuomo and or his ilk are in power.

Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties all have renewable licenses now along with NYC! Also most other State CCW's are renewable just like non-resident licenses.
