1) Nope. If science moves forward and these genetic researchers say this is a genetic failure pre-birth; then I believe what these hundreds (or thousands) of Ph.D. and MD researchers are finding. 20 years ago the knowledge of the day indicated it was psychological. It's not and the geneticists found out what it was - so now it's physiological. 100 years ago if you had an infection you were fucked. That's how McKinley died. If he died now, they would not have opened him multiple times and gave him that infection. That's the beauty of scientific improvements. 77% of Americans are Christian; and it fits their world view better to say the person is mentally unstable or mentally damaged than it does to say their God fucked up in the design of conception-to-birth. For Americans, Genesis 1:27 is tidier because it's easy to say "God created them perfect and they fucked themselves up using free will (mental disorder)" than to say "this design is flawed so therefore God must be flawed".

2) As stated earlier, the trans community is extremely small and extremely outcast. The "welfare state" are our social programs that are paid for by taxes. There are certain groups that are given every opportunity to stand on their own two feet; and those folks typically do not deserve the social programs they use and abuse. Trans people don't have the same opportunities that even these inner city miscreants and recidivists do. They get the same education; but they are refused gainful employment and often have to resort to the sex trade rather than starve to death and die homeless.

3) I am not projecting. Scroll up and see all the slurs being slung. Tranny, mental defective, faggot, etc. The same people that sling those slurs are the ones that abuse the trans community, and will stand by and cheer when Trump's Amicus Brief results in giving him the ability to fire every government employee that is LGBT and perhaps even deny social services to the LGBT community. He is already doing that. The trans community that is impoverished (basically most of them) relies on Planned Parenthood for hormones and blood tests. He is de-funding planned parenthood. Planned Parenthood gets 40% of their funding from the Federal Goverment. 40% of $500M so basically $200M a year comes from Trump. That's nothing. He went after that miniscule portion of the $2.5 trillion dollar budget for religious reasons; not because he needed to trim some fat. He didn't stop spending $45 million on Viagra for troops and call that frivolous.

I'm invested in trans people having equal rights. If he does it that way, he is exactly following the steps Himmler did against LGBT in the mid 1930's.

Can't anyone that is medically and mentally fit for duty volunteer? The question is - is a trans person less fit than a cis person just by being trans? There are thousands of trans people in the military right now, and tens of thousands of trans veterans. Did they do a better job, worse job, or an equal job to a cis person? Can the military pull blood and say "you have the BRCA gene, so we cannot take you because you could get cancer during your 4 years and that would cost us money"? I don't think they can do that.
